May 19'th Dublin Road Trip

Anyone down? I'm ready to go as soon as the weather clears up! I'm thinking the Stephenville Hard 8/Dublin Dr. Pepper run again but I'm open to any suggestions.

next weekend I was gonna ride down to Copperas Cove for that car show and then take the long way back, but now I think I'll still be without a bike. damn places and their 4-10 business days shipping.

on a sidenote, my next big roadtrip will be to the Great American Beer Festival in Denver in Oct. 287 heads all the way to downtown Denver. Might stop by the New Belgium brewery on the way.

Copperas Cove is a nice little ride, especially if you head down 281. We did a run to Killeen and backing heading down 281 and back up 35 (to save time) last October.

Dayum! Denver??!! In October??!!

Cool! I'll start looking for a location to go to, maybe something east of Dallas.

Adam, glad to hear you haven't gotten rid of the bike. I thought I heard you post one time that you were thinking about selling it.

I'm in.......lets do the Dublin Ride again to get it started off, that is a nice medium ride, plus the BBQ is good!!

Maybe we can do a longer one a little later. I like the Killeen one and would like to run 281 to San Antonio but not to start off.

If the price is right I'll sell it and upgrade to something bigger than a 600.

Sounds like a plan. I'd love to hit up San Antonio via 281.

Dublin it is than for the first trip of the year. Let's start talking time table. I probably won't have a weekend free for a couple of weeks. I'd prefer a Saturday trip but can do Sunday after late morning.

Larry, got a PM coming your way.

The Dr. Pepper place opens late on Sunday, so Saturday is the better day for that trip. e.g. Leave DFW - Hit Dublin - then Hit the BBQ place for lunch and still be back by around 2 or 3 PM.

I am out the first weekend in June, but other than that I should be good. The 26th ties in with Memorial Day and not sure how many people are going out of town etc.

If Jose can get off of work I would like to try the 19th. Not sure about Memorial Day weekend, and the next weekend is busy for me.

weather can't be too bad yet during that time. I have some good jackets if it is cold. missed it last year and really wanted to head out there this time. might even follow the guys from Rahr out there.

My roommate and I are riding to San Antonio next weekend. It will be her first road trip on her still nearly new Sportster. She went on the freeway for the first time two weekends ago to the Renne Faire. Hopefully she'll learn a lot and make it okay. I plan on taking 281 off the 67 so I don't have to deal with Ft Worth traffic, even on a Saturday.

So far I have for the 19th:

Evil Jose
OC
ram57ta
sc457a (which bike are you bringing?)
perezsteveo
adamLx
The raven(possible - electrical issues)
89stangGT(possible - parts issues)

I also have a few more people who may ride as well.

Please post up the earliest you can ride. I am thinking meet up at McDonalds in Alvarado at 0930 on the 19th. This allows the Dallas riders to shoot down 67 and the FW Riders to shoot down I-35W.

I will get with Jose about the route but it will be 35W to Hilsboro then Hwy 22 to Hwy 6 to Dublin then 67 back to Alvarado(with a stop off for BBQ of course)

I talked to the boss, I should be able to get Saturday off, barring someone here coming down with some deadly illness. He won't tell me for sure until wednesday or so, but if i'm going, i'll meet up with fordracing over in Gainesville.
