Novice motorcycle guide. READ HERE FIRST!

Okay guys, over the next few days I'll try to compile some of the previous threads, but feel free to add anything that a first or second time buyer should know. Thanks in advance.

Take a Motorcycle Safety class first to see if it's for you.

1. Learn to ride on a dirtbike
2. Don't get a 1000 for your first sportbike
3. Everybody and their brother has a Gixxer, get something else, they're all about as fast as the other ones, the rider makes the difference.
4. Wear gear
5. Don't be an idiot in traffic making everybody hate motorcyclists
6. Take a minute to realize how much cooler bikes are than cars

As a novice myself how bout telling potential buyers where to go to find a nice used bike other then southwest superbikes. I went there yesterday and they are quite a bit overpriced on many of their bikes.

I'm not quite sure what you're getting at. Mustangs are pretty lame.

rated in order from my experience.
1.gixxer
2.yamaha r6
3.zx-6r
4.cbr 600 or 600rr
Ive riden all of them and they are rated this way because of ease of use, saftey, speed, and just fun to drive.

LOL you said safety while talking about a bike and not gear

I'm definitely not saying safety shouldn't be a consideration while riding. but it shouldn't be one in the bike you get since that's all up to how intelligent you ride and wearing proper gear not the bike you're on, except for it having good tires and brakes

and to all the new riders looking for a bike just always assume that the bike your looking at has been beat on if its used. thats what they were made for. my bike only has 4000 miles on it but they are a real hard 4000 miles

Be careful of your speed, your surrounding, other traffic, and and maybe # 1, your riding skills..

Do not ride next to 18 wheelers. I drive one for a living and when a tire explodes it fucking explodes and you dont want to be near it on a motorcycle. especially without gear on

2. LOL

Two of my best friends started on 1000's out here in Cali where the real riding is and both did great and are happy they did. As for me i only had one bike before my R1 and i didnt even ride that long, and well i can say i have done great too !!

It only goes as fast as you make it, Going down on a bike is going to hurt the same if its a 600 or a 1000.

Its all about the rider not the bike!!!!!

rookie on the street vs. experienced rider? oh, and your bike puts down closer to 125, sorry to say. And hit up Motorsport Ranch and go get passed by the 400cc dirtbikes while youre at it

Ok i know why I would probly not choose a 1000 for a first bike, but maybe yall have some other reasons i did not think of. What are yall's reasons for not having a 1000 for a first bike?

maybe I shouldn't say anything but someone was telling me that the busa was just the fastest top speed and that some of the liter bikes were slightly faster in acceleration? The busa is a bigger and longer bike so it shouldn't be too bad in comparison.
