Who does Jet-Hot type Ceramic pipe coating in DFW area?

Who does a Jet Hot type of ceramic pipe coating in the DFW area?

I was thinking of getting my pipes done and wondering if it can be done locally or should I just bite the bullet & send them to JetHot ???

TIA,
BK

I've used Mike Tomlin on several occasions, ceramic coating various parts on my Mustang. Great guy and great prices. Very easy to work with.

I know Paul does powder coating but not sure about ceramic coating.

Stainless steel header pipes.

Want to reduce the heat near pipes.
Rear pipe on V Twin is close to rear shock. Gets shock pretty warm in the summer.
Thought about header wrap but it looks like hell after a while. It also increases the O/D of the pipe.
Was thinking of adding a lower fairing later and may have clearance issues with header wrap
The aftermarket fairings also have problems with heat degrading the fairing material over time (it's very close to exhaust pipe). This has been reported even with heat reflection material on inside of fairing running with pipe.
Jet Hot claims 40% reduction in heat on outside of pipe with their coating plus better exhaust gas scavaging and some increase in the lower RPM range torque.

A plus is no discoloration to the pipes

So that's the 'Cliff Notes' version of my plan

Pic of lower fairing:

Looks but it helps contain heat as well. Got my headers and other things ceramic coated.

Cool. I was just asking cause while it definently will decrease radiant heat coatings and heat wrap decrease the life of the pipe exponentially! Just an FYI. That's all.

Friend has an 02 750 motor but it may have a crack in the case by the stator. I would have to call and ask him.

Or I have an 04 1k motor setup that is still in the bike. 10 k miles on it. He can ride it before he buys it to make sure the motor is everything he wants. Parting the entire bike out. Yes it was laid down and no damage to the motor.

New for 07, Yamaha R1

Just reading the new Sport Rider magazine I got in yesterday and looks like Yamaha is raising the bar some. Some interesting technology in the new R1. Fly-by-wire throttle control that they introduced in the R6 as well as the adjustable intake trumpets. Dayum. I like the look of it as well. Should be interesting to read more reviews.

My guess would be like short versus long runners on a car's intake.

Short runners=higher revs, less torque
Long runners=more torque, lower revs

The same thing as the variable intake runners on the ZR1 (LT5) and the SHO Taurus. More torque where you want it.

Don't they also have a slipper clutch on that thing now? Should make drag racing a little easier, especially if it's adjustable.

A slipper clutch doesn't mean it slips from the line.....it means it doesnt lock up the back tire like a regular clutch when you downshift.

Well, considering EVERYONE had problems with the TPS/throttle bodies on the 04+ bikes, I think I'd stay about a million miles from this one.

Thats bs! Just because of that would not make me not buy another one. Granted, i wouldn't buy the first year model. But still.

Well, your bike is on its second of third set of throttle bodies. How much time do you want to spend waiting for yamaha to quit screwing the pooch trying to make a bike that starts/rides everytime?

I have plenty of friends who ride suzukis and kawasakis, some of them were nice enough to share when mine/my friend's R1s were in the shop.

I'm just sayin Adam. I know not every bike is going to be perfect. But because one has bugs, its not going to keep me from buying another. The only reason i won't buy another R1 is because the Yamaha corporation as a whole, sucks.
