Suzuki SV650

Looking to pick up a nice bike that I can just cruise around in. I was thinking about a used F2 or F3 or maybe even a YZF600. So this SV650 looks like a safe enough bet to me. It will be my first bike so I'm not looking to spend more than $3-3,500 and the insurance won't be high. Any opinions???

SV650s are the definition of perfect starter bikes in my book. They have the option of unlimited upgrades and still offer the inexpensive replacement of broken parts should you lapse into squidhood. I say go for it and good luck!

Sweet and I would make sure to get the full fairings but now put them on until I have at least a month of daily riding and some frame sliders on. I should have made the deal on one at Southwest Superbikes for 3,000 when I had the chance. It was either sentra and bike or new mustang. Ended up with the 03 Gt. Getting a little bored and looking for a nice bike. No way I was going to get a 250 or 500 ninja for a starter bike. Glad to hear good things about this bike from y'all. Makes me feel much better in my decision.

I have 4 on my bike..what do u need to know about them??

i am looking to put some on my tlr, i want the kind that are in a plastic "tube" that have about 8-10 leds in them like you see on ebay. but i dont want to pay $15 shipping. did you get yours local if so where?? also is it as simple as wiring them to a power source and putting aswitch inline?? also is it just the led's or is there a need to mount a box with them?? thanks...

god bless.

yes just hook a switch up to them..but if you just get a led ..you will have to add a resistor to it ......I am not sure what led tubes you are refering to though

edit: if u get some and need help just let me know

its the resistor box that some of the kits come with. so i will need that then huh? do you have just 4 of the single diodes on your bike? the "tube" i am speaking of is just a clear plastic piece that inside of it will hold maybe a strip of 10 diodes. kinda weather proof you know?? i might have to take you up on the help possibly. thanks for the offer.

thanks

god bless.

The Leds WILL need resistors they will not work off of a 12 volt circut....so u will need that Box it comes with ...when u decide to buy show me what it is and I can help ya hook it up ..take two seconds

MIGHT TRADE MY BIKE...help me decide

I might trade my bike this Monday for a 2003 Honda 954RR, its used and has 2000 miles on it.......I'll be trading in a 2000 Suzuki Katana 750. I know there is a power difference in these 2 bikes, but will someone put it into a perspective for me and be honest please.
I need to justify this trade.
this is the bike i'm trading in...

what the fuck is your problem? hell no they aren't the same. the 954 is a MUCH faster bike, better quality, better everything, although they are similar, the 954 is a much better starting point.

don't be a fuckface, and actually think about the analogy, have you ever driven a STOCK 96-98 GT?

No, and i don't care to. I was just wondering how they compare, I honestly wasn't sure how a 96-98 GT and a MACH 1 would fair together.

a 954 for should go mid/low tens with a good rider, that katana might go low 11's.

on the freeway, it's called an ass dragging.

a lil something called search engines...as far as a katana pitted against a 954RR, theres no comparison. its basically a WRX vs. STI

There are alot of items to look for and for that list just search google. Regardless, you need to bring someone who really knows bikes. Better yet take it to a shop that will give it a good once over like garage-mahall, I bet he would do it cheap too.

Its got alot more pickup way better handling. better stopping. its an all out better bike. gets better pussy just the whole nine yard (if your married substitute pussy for looks) anyway just my two cents.

Its at a dealership (kawasaki), so i'm trading in my Katana for the 954. They want $7800 for the 954 but they'll give me $4000 for my bike, so i'll finance $3800.
Not married.

one of the largest differences you are going to notice is the riding position, 954 has lower clipons and a rear cowl. more of a sportbike ride, with more weight transfered onto your wrists. the katana is a sport-tourer, which makes it more comfortable in longer rides. 954 is defintely on another level as far as performance.

I love my R1. Just can not stand to part with her. She is so smooth looking and love the way she rides and handles. Would probably sell my 10 before my R1.

Thanks
