** Second DFW Stangs Motorcycle Roadtrip - Possum Kingdom Lake November 13 **

Still working on details as far as lodging as most cabins want a minimum of two nights

I've got a pretty good route planned out but it's only about 140 miles. Trying to figure out something a little longer so that we will have a long ride there. I'll try and post up a map later tonight of what I've got so far.

Who is in?????? Please post up.

Wheelie class at work

I don't know who puts it on but they do it about every two month's in our dirt track parking lot. They use suzuki 1000's with no fairings and a wheelie bar set at different levels. I am going to go out in alittle while to try and get some pics.

<----- Proud new 'Busa owner!

I stopped by Yamaha Suzuki of Texas and I fell in love all over again. There in front of me was a pristine '02 Special Edition jet black Busa After rustling through some paperwork, I was the new owner. After a brief ride home, all I can say is WOW! This thing feels like it has an ifinite amount of power. I ordered a full 4-1 Yoshimura exhaust, K&N, lowering links and a front strap. I am going to take this bike over to Scott at Cyclewerkz and buy a Powercommander and get this badboy tuned! I have had enough of being owned by liter bikes at the track! Now its time to play with the big boys!

John

BTW, anyone want to buy a mint condition '02 ZX-6R?

My 6 is Red with all of the decals removed. It currently has a Muzzy lowering links, the front tubes pulled through the triple tree with a strap, M4 slip on, K&N and it was just tuned by Scott at Cyclewerkz. It has 2200 miles on it and I am looking for $5500.

congrats on the new bike. A few things, first the yosh exh sucks, I can get you a hindle, best on the market, at pretty damn good cost. Second, you need to put a clutch mod in it before you go drag racing. Third, bring that thing to me and I'll tune it.

I Heard This Employee At Ultimate Electronics In Fort Worth Laid Your Busa Down Because He Could Not Stop When A Car Was Pulling Out. And That You Almost Cry Like A Girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since You Payed About 7900 For It Now That Has Been Laid Down Is Worth About As Much As Your Old One You Have. Asking Too Much For Old One Compare To How Much You Actually Paid For The Busa That Got Laid Down.

Adrian,

Mike knows full and well that he is responsible for the damage that he inflicted on my new bike. The left fairing needs to be sanded and re painted. No big deal, it's just a motorcycle.
As for crying like a girl, hardly. I was laughing at Mike's ass after he fell off. The important thing is that he's okay. Go ask him about my reaction and stop talking shit on the web.

What an ass!

Must be another "I don't give a shit about anyone else's stuff" guy...

I know John and I think he would be more concerned about the person than the bike. Not that he needs to defend his actions to any of us.

Problems with my Two Brother's Slip On

Should have posted this sooner but I wanted to take the time to describe everything plus edit the pictures I took. I bought the slip on off of eBay from a guy on an R6 message board. As I stated earlier, I got it for $80 shipped which I thought was a good deal.

It was understood by me that it was rashed and I saw it on the pictures from his ad. What I didn't know was that the inside of the slip on is loose. I'm sure this isn't "the norm" on those things. It's hard to tell by this picture but the material on the inside is loose and dinged up bad so that it's not solidly mounted to the inside of the can. I'm new to all of this and I want to make sure before I bitch at this guy that I'm correct in thinking that this slip on is damaged more than what he described and I have every right to complain to him.

Here is what he had on his eBay ad.

Quote:
You are bidding on a polished Two Brothers Racing exhaust slip-on. Will fit any 99-02 Yamaha R6. I laid the bike over a few months ago so it has light road rash on it, but you can probably get them buffed out. Other than that the pipe is clean. I've put about 4,600 miles on it. This is an awesome slip on, great sound and quality. Reduces overall Weight and Increases Horsepower!!! Happy Bidding.
I would appreciate any advice. I'm certain that I can contact Two Brothers and get some kind of rebuild kit (I read on a recent article on slip ons that you can remove the rivets and repack the slip on) but I don't know if it will be worth it. Thanks.

that is basically it ..the packin on the inside is screwed...not sure what a rebuild would cost..sure it is not much if u can do it local

edit: also pipes are going to add so little of HP u will not notice it unless u get headers as well

To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad.

actually bro, from the looks of it the guy that used to own it had tried to tamper with the baffling. It shouldnt look like that at all should be smooth all the way through. You can take it apart by punching out the rivets and drilling them off. Just hope that if he took it apart before that he used aluminum rivets to put it back together and not steel. You can get it apart and bend the guts back straight and get the holes lined back up and rivet it back together. If the inside is loose like you said, its probably because he did have it apart trying to make it sound louder probably, and he didnt get the inside riveted to the cap with the shell. You can fix it pretty easy you just have to open it up to see what you are working with. Hope this helps.........

That's what I read on a write up on Sport Rider magazine. Guess I'm going to be in contact with Two Brothers and the guy I bought it from to figure out something. Dammit this pisses me off!!!! I'm sure it won't be to much trouble to replace the baffle but it's an extra cost that I wasn't expecting
