About taking the DPS test.......

So I can just go up there and ask to take the Motorcycle liscense test and I can take it without having to do the riding portion? I have a certain amount of time to take the riding portion, right? This will get me a permit, correct?

The DPS isn't open on Saturdays are they?

Passed the DPS test today...
I took the test yesterday thinking it would be cake, and failed it about 80% through it...

So I read the book last night cover-cover, and got 14/15 right, then the test passed me without having to finish it...

Next month when it isn't hot as hell outside, its time for the MSF. JC, you wanna take it with me so I have someone I know in the class?

At least I have a legal permit now to ride with someone that has a license... I asked the lady at the counter if I could just go to bike night and assume someone there has a license, and she laughed and told me to be careful.

I went yesterday and took the test. I made an 80 without even opening the book in 3 years!! Next week I am going to have my dad follow me to the DPS so I can do the driving portion of the test.

Of course I will probably take the MSF course in a few months when I can get a Saturday off.

Just take the MSF it's really worth it, then you go up there and take the test (which you have already seen all the questions from the msf class) and in 15 minutes you have the liscense.

the MSF class will also give you a discount on your insurance if you mail the ins company a copy of it.

So if you take the MSF class, do you have to take the driving portion at the DPS? Also what do you need to take the MSF course? do you need your own bike?

If you take the MSF class you can skip the riding portion of the DPS test. You do not need to bring your own bike for the MSF class, they provide that for you. You will need to bring a long sleeve shirt or jacket, pants, ankle high boots, leather palmed gloves, and a helmet if possible but they usually have loaners on those. Hope that helps.

National Arenacross Series

FYI 1/7/05 @ Reunion arena $18 - $20. Went to one last year was all you need is some ear plugs if you are sitting close.

Busa parts.....

I know a guy who has a wrecked Busa....just checking to see if there would be any interest in some parts from it?

I.E. Are there any Busa owners around these parts?

Here are some more pics......

It is an 01 with 5K miles on the motor. The frame's only visible damage is the ding in the front which could be covered by the fairing if rebuilt. There is no breaks or cracks in the factory frame welds. The motor should be fine but due to the electronics issue...cannot be started at the present time. Only performance mod was a Nikko (sp?) "black box" that did away with the horsepower limitations implemented by the factory. Wheels are in good shape and overall this bike would make for a good rebuild. Owner is asking $2,500 for the whole bike and this will include delivery. The bike will be sold as a whole and I am pretty sure it will go quickly at this price. Hell... I would buy it if I had the money.

I'm not saying anything other than the fact that neck is tucked, and you say the frame is perfect except for a "ding". I can clearly see the neck is tucked by looking at those pictures.

How do yall ride wheelies?

On my dirtbikes all you had to do was stay in low gear and twist the throttle, then ride it. Iv ran threw first and second and the wheel has only come up 1-2 inches.Of course me wheighing 220lbs probably doesnt help. Do yall sit back, dump the clutch or what. And how do those guys ride wheelies for as long as they do on the street? Thanks
