NO its not worth it, UNLESS you are lazy and don't clean your weapon.

If you are like me and 90% of all AR-15 owners, you do not need a Piston Upper.

IF you take your AR-15 home after you go shooting and you clean it, You don't need it.

If you plan on shooting your AR-15 over 3000 rounds of ammo, then you would need one.

Think about it, for 30 dollars, you can buy a good cleaning kit, and solvent to clean your gun.

As much as I would want a Piston Upper, I can't justify it. When I go to the range, I shoot around 100 rounds of ammo, then go home and clean it. (It's not that bad). For the Extra 200-500 dollars or so they want for the piston uppers, I'll clean the damn gun. Hell if I had the piston upper, I'd still clean the piston.

How much weight does it add to the front of rifle? Always wanted one just for the fact that it would be more reliable but I'd probably never shoot enough to take advantage of it.
