I'll be very impressed if it picks up 60hp from a CAI, and a tune. And FWIW, I've never understood how gears could have any effect on dyno numbers...

I was thinking more around 25hp from CAI and tune, but who knows?

I know the gears won't change hp but I'm saying over 300 cause with a tune I could remove the limiter which is preventing it from hitting the hp it really has

doug, it did 240 at 6k i think that thing doesnt redline till 8 or so. i wouldnt be surprised if it picked up 45hp just from another 2000rpm cuz it have vtec or what ever fords word for vtec is.

That's LS1 territory. With 233 ft.lbs. torque, I can't see that.

its basiclly a honda civic type R motor man, loves to rev and everything\

edit, just read that readline was 7k but with an advertised305hp i bet 260hp stock would not be out of the question on that automatic.

i would much rather have one of these as a project vs a GT

What's the speed limiter on those cars ?

I would have liked to put my car on the dyno, but the lower left torque box is tore up on it right now, so I've gotta get that all welded back up before I beat on it some more.

damn. that's all those cars put down? had some douche coworker talking crap about his '11 V6 being rated at more power and it'd be able to walk me, but wouldn't run me lol. now I see this and laugh. My car is rated at 285hp at the crank from the factory and the average bone stock CSRT4 dyno looks like this:

http://www.calibersrt4.net/attachmen...0925-00090.jpg

So yeah, I'd love to do a stock for stock run against a '11 V6 stang.

Mandy has a 2006 4.0 & hers puts down 230 RWHP & runs 9.30s She has pullys & Cold Air Kit & TUne & Exhaust. I have seen her whoop up on 1999 PI motors & that was from a Dig & Punch. Dont count out these new 3.8 V6 Mustangs. Im pretty sure if he can learn to roll that stang off the line & then lay on the throttle it has some 9.20s in it!

GOD BLESS TEXAS

Damn drunk on hateraid.

I think he wanted a good looking daily driver with decent mileage and still have some pep.

It's a v6, and it's not fast by any means.

But it's differant, and you gotta respect that. Its cools to take the path less traveled sometimes.

Not to many people have a 500rwhp stock block mach 1 with a eaton. And that's why it's cool.

91 Coupe, off road h, underdrive pulleys, short belt with a/c, electric fans and 3.73s. 3060lbs. Daily driven 20mpg average.

All stock 91 coupe. Stang' Bangin'

Dont count out these new 3.8 V6 Mustangs. Im pretty sure if he can learn to roll that stang off the line & then lay on the throttle it has some 9.20s in it!
I need to learn to launch it because that is where its killing me, I am power braking it right now and it will only go up to 2k rpms

First, the new v6's really aren't that expensive, so for a BRAND NEW daily driver, with almost 30 mpg that is fun to drive I wouldn't say it was a bad decision... and like he said he's got another car to play with. Buuut, I've driven the V6 and GT and if I was to buy a new Mustang I'd have to spend the extra money.
