Plans for your car or racing in 2011?

It's getting close to that time again - the year is amost over. Winter is right around the corner, the time that most of us do our "upgrades" for next year..

For me, I bought my old blue car back. Sold the red car. Blue car is already running, but needs suspension work which will be coming over the winter. It'll get a new front end, cage, and some rear end work.

The 306 will get sold and changed to something fresh

What's on your list?

That red car was sweeeeeeet too

Times are tough though, I hear ya. No car for me right now, my garage is empty but the wife is starting a new job in a week so hopefully I can start shopping around for a new ride next spring. Im thinking a 90-92 camaro or 98-02 trans am with a smallish (cough cough T6 cough cough ) turbo setup . 90% street and 10% track this time around.

Yeah, I liked it alot - but it was a classic case of bieng in over my head and no time. The blue car was (is) one of those projects that I can do in stages and never have it torn down for more than a week or two - I hope to never get back into a project like the red car again..

Upgrade to a moly 10 pt. cage, the 6pt. currently in it is heavy as hell. Work on the suspension and lighten the car up some. And, hopefully, get some interest going in a stickcar racing series. Us stickcar guys need a place to race!

Now that I finally got my new setup finished, thanks to Tony (Econodrag) I plan on some test and tune the rest of the year, and get the coupe wrapped before the cold sets in and cover her up for the winter.

I am shooting to have my 1988 IROC Camaro up & running. I have been in a very slow process of restoring it & things are looking up for it come 2011 KNOCK ON WOOD!

THE RAT sits in the back yard with a car cover over it till I have $10,000 grand together to bring it back. It needs
New Transmisson $3200
Converter Flushed $200
Stock Rockers & sell the Harland Sharps. I like the stock rockers better!
Convert to Stock Leather Seats
New front clip & both front fenders
Car buffed & hit all around for nicks
BRAND NEW SET TTIIs Powder Coated Black with the chrome lip & new tires with 315 Mickey Thompsons out back
Custom Tune

But THE RAT wont be back till I can afford to do the above! Which all depends on getting equipment & a SCAG 61inch 27 Hp Zero Turn mower & start networking in Rockwall more. Once I get that mower & more customers & explore in to custom sprinkler systems, That is when I will bring my baby back to life. I will just have to enjoy my slow IROC for now which is just fine by me. Cause going fast costs ALOT of money & I just dont have it right now to blow on racing, But I suspect I will be back out there down the road!

GOD BLESS TEXAS

Suspension here. Started working out plans to have the 'ol t-top car minitubbed, narrowed rear,6pt cage, and get the rear suspension on track. I may not have the big power up front but I'd at least like to know my stuff will hook everytime. (fingers crossed)

Well, I got the car painted this year which was a goal. I'll probably go ahead and have the top replaced this year as well. That should take care of the cosmetic stuff. Over next year, I'll probably make a decision on the transmission (tbrake or looser stall), swap to a tubular k-member/a-arm/coil-over setup or maybe just new springs/struts/shocks with some adjustability. Besides that, just try to drive it as much as I can!

Edit: Oops! I forgot my fuel system. I've been accumulating parts for a fuel system upgrade. I'd like to get all that stuff done next year as well. I've got the A1000 and the 60# injectors, but still need to get the sumped tank, lines/fittings, rails, etc.

I'd be happy to just get all my shit running at the same time.
Planning to fix the bent axle in the '00 Mustang and then put in a rear anti-roll bar so I can launch it without wheel hop.
Need to fix my pulley alignment issues with the '01 Vette so I can keep a belt on it.

I thought that most of my work was over and I'd just get to enjoy driving my 98. I sold my TKO setup in Feb and had my buddy build a 4r70 and picking up a fresh from PI converter from a board member, sent the motor to Rusert Machine(Midland, TX) to have heads gone through, gaskets replaced, and swapped back to stock cams (also replaced some timing components that original owners engine guy screwed up). Put everything back together, installed Baumman Trans controller, found a way to mount a trans cooler that didn't cause conflict with my Big Ass Intercooler, and went for a test drive. Got about 5 miles worth before the trans destroyed itself (internal failure most likely from case problem when we tore it back down). My buddy started police academy which made for a slow build on the 2cd trans. Got it back a week ago last monday. Started the install at midnight and had finished and test driven and locked up shop by 3 am. Everything was looking good Tuesday put about 60 miles on it and was planning on scheduling a retune for the cam swap and timing repairs. Got the car all legal again (insurance, tags, inspection), and was going to drive it home. Headed out for a drive and thought I heard the exhaust of something hitting as cruise speed. Came back to work, pulled the belt so I wasn't fighting the F1-A and bypass, and was saddened to hear what sounded like a rod or main knock. So out came the fresh built trans again and the motor that was just installed and back to the machine shop. This time it'll come completely apart and I'll have everything checked. So my plans\goals are to get the motor in good shape, reinstall everything again, get a retune, and hopefully drive the shit out of it for a while. The car felt like a rocket with the auto, stall, and drag radials on the street the few times I drove it last week so I'm hoping for some good timeslips and miles down the highway in the future.

For my 08: Swap 3650 for 6060. Build/intsall 302 stroker, C&L manifold, VSR cams, smaller pulley, and aim for around 550.

It has a throttle body spacer for high end HP, and an RV cam for low end toque.

Decent price on an Aeromotive tank in classifieds...

Just because my old paint job is about as old as you, doesn't mean it won't happen! I can dream, can't I?
