89 GT Turbo....

Some of you might know this GT from when it was forsale on here when Cleto-Chingon had it... i bought it and hauled it to Tulsa Oklahoma... ran it a few times with the nitrous setup it had...car never hooked well...went a 12.4 @ 112 all motor with the 5 spd and a 12.1 @ 120 with nitrous just no traction..... but anyways ditched the tremec 3550 and nitrous and went with a ON3Performance 70mm turbo kit and a PA Super Comp built c4 with transbrake.

what all i changed on the car from previous setup

old
30# injectors and Maf
NEW
60# injectors PMAS blow thru maf

old

NEW
Turbo manifolds and Pypes 3" exhaust

old
GT rear bumper
NEW
Cobra Rear bumper with 3" LX tails

old
fuel system
NEW
Stock sumped tank A1000 Pump -10 feed -8 return

old

old
tremec 3550
NEW
Top of the line PA c4 with transbrake a manual vb

old
king cobra clutch
NEW
Dynamic 9" turbo convertor

old
150 shot nitrous
NEW
70mm turbo 6lbs boost

old
stock control arms
NEW
chromoly upper lower tubular control arms

old
koni yellows front and rears
NEW
koni fronts Strange 10way external adjutables

old

I will get some good pictures posted up but took the car out last weekend and went a 11.50 @ 118 letting out in the 1000ft and having to cruise to the traps at 5500 since the 410 gears with the c4 and turbo is a bit to much... havnt put the 327 gears in nor have transbrake or 2step hooked up... but is a fun car

Looks good. What are the specifics on the engine (heads, cam, intake, etc) ?

When are you going to get the gears swapped out and throw the 2 step on it ? So that run was on 6 lbs ? Crank that bitch up !

What turbo is on it? (I might have missed that part)

I hope you can weld, you will need to be able to with that kit on there - I can't recall one single thing about those guys, that was good.

If it has a MPT70 on it, that car should go at least 6.20's in the 1/8 mile

Doesn't say specifically which one it is though.

Yeah, what I was going to type when I clicked on reply was not what I thought about after I started typing it out, if that makes any sense.

...just the way "70MM" is worded makes me think it's a chinese ebay turbo that they call "Super T70" or some shit. BIG difference. Those are actually 60's or 63's (I forget which one).. and only good for 500-600HP from what I remember.. and that's if they last long enough to make it past a dyno pull.

its a masterpower t70, ON3's kits have proven themselves over and over on other cars.. 5.0 and mod cars... car has not been on the dyno so no idea on what its making for power just been down the track for 3 passes in a night... and all held up great.... time will tell but shooting for some 10.5 or faster in the 1/4 with the 327 gears, transbrake and 2step

The turbo will do it, no problem. It has the ability to run some low 9's.

The kit, well.. good luck with it, you will most likely need it.

Brooks,
You know that I've got the on3 kit with "their" turbo(Chinese) - Where would I need to measure to determine the true size of the turbo?

I know it says .70 A/R on the cold side and I think it says .68 A/R on the hot side.

TIA

The important measurement, the one everybody goes by, is the opening of the compressor housing. There are a few other measurements of the compressor wheel that affect flow etc.. but the main one is the inlet size of the compressor housing.

If you measure in inches, the conversion factor is .039375 X inches

For example - 70MM should measure around 2.75"

So, 70MM X .039375 = 2.756

Looks good! What did your 1/8th mile times/MPH look like? Get a little less gear in that thing and it should haul.
