Yet another fwd email.....but a damn good example

Is this man a genius?

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan"..
All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A....

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
Could not be any simpler than that. Remember, there is a test coming up. The mid-term election in 2010!

I'm not holding my breath for that rebuttal...I can't think of one instance in mankind's existence that socialism was the ultimate answer to success.

Proof,

Go to work in almost any union shop. (up north in a state that is not a right to work state)

All men should know Honor first, above all else!

Honor is not holding your hand out for something you did not earn.
Honor is not forcing your ideas, or belief on others.
Honor is not something given to you by way of job, or title.

Honor is learned, earned, practiced and respected by all decent men and women.

I here you, look at GM "or any of the three "a guy pushing a broom makes the same as a guy who has the most demanding and hard job.
Why would you want to move up and put in any extra effort when gommer pushing the broom who hides out for 50% of his shift takes home about the same per hour.

have you ever looked up the pay scale rates? Not everyone makes the same amount in a union job. You have different positions that pay certain amounts. The sucky thing about union is you arent allowed to do things that higher paying positions do even if you have the ability.

For instance in your example, that broom pusher cant jump onto the assembly line or go help a tool and die guy, which is the highest paying position in the UAW last I checked, or he will get in trouble.

**EDIT** I just read the original and to a degree I agree that union jobs do act like that class. There are incentives for people who put forth the effort though, like special projects but no extra pay. Also if someone wants to put forth the effort of extra schooling, there are positions that pay very well but require certain tests to be passed that need college classes.
