Oh wow...a new low I just never expected.

I think the person who wrote Idiocracy may be a prophet...

"A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."
-Gerald Ford/Thomas Jefferson

"A Republic, if you can keep it"
- Benjamin Franklin

The way to peaceably remove elected officials who deviate from the constitution of the United States of America...

I would say that Cobert is making a mockery of Congress, but we all know they did that to themselves a long long time ago..

Someone who has never really lived as middle class or will ever have to worry about this being a problem in his neighborhood is going to testify. Awesome.

I thought it was a brilliant move, colbert was there on behalf of the farm workers association, he was able to bring attention to these hearings that would have otherwise gone unnoticed.

I'm shocked that you feel this way.

They just gave at least 3 extra house seats to the R's due to them pulling a stupid stunt like this.

Obama should hire you as his Campaign strategist for 2012
Tell him to call me if he needs a reference for ya.

all kinds of organizations have celebrities speak for them at hearings like this, it happens all the time. the whole point of this was to get attention for the ufw, and it worked.

No it didn't. His antics totally overshadowed his "cause". Hell, he wasn't even funny, and another lib (John Conyer's) even asked him to leave the chamber! Do you REALLY think that was effective?

It backfired on the dems. They were trying to be cute and came off as time/resource wasting assholes.

I don't understand, Comedic satire shows are where all the good news is. Personally I get my politics from Kat williams and Jef Dunham. I also find Tosh.O to have great investing advice.

pffft...

The cobert report is a Liberal fringe satire show that leans right from way over left. The only reason cobert even has a show is so Jon stewart does't look like the tool he is.

Are either of them a news organization? I am stunned anyone needs to be told they are not...

I find humor in all news of any kind. You have the left making claims that fox is distorting facts. The right claiming msnbc is. Then you have a couple retards on comedy central that make an absolute joke of any and all news. That's why its funny.

How can you say it didn't bring attention the hearings when, had Colbert not testified at the hearings, you probably would have not even known they happened?

Colbert said on his show that he was paying all his own expenses. And the government has wasted time on far more stupider things than a 10 minute satire of Colbert making fun of the very people that asked him to speak.

Way to go dems, make yourselves look even more stupid than we all already know that you are. Invite an entertainer to testify. If nothing else, I guess they would be entertained. Its good to see them focusing on their entertainment when we have all these problems. Way to go.

I still think Hurricane Chris, rapping about Halle Berry in front of the Louisiana Legislature takes the cake.
