Healthcare premium increase?

Our company just got word back from Blue Cross/Blue Shield that are premiums across the board are going up nearly 60%. Mine is going up from a little over 50 to just under 100 per month. (single no dep).

Curious how much health care premiums are shooting through the roof.

250 twice a month for me, the wife and the kiddo. Getting worried it is going to be more. We get our enrollment of benefits in October.

He also said that he wouldn't criminalize anyone who wouldn't get with the program.

Your provider couldn't alert you because they didn't want any trouble. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/opinion...u2NoaBKQq2m9xK

Our government needs our help, they have an addiction. Our government is addicted to our money. Since they always have our best interest at heart it's time we return the favor. We need to have an intervention, for the governments own good of course. It's just irresponsible for us to let people with a known money addiction continue to handle our money. Lets have an intervention now so we can help these sick individuals.

I'm sure the dems are loving that most companies do health care enrollments the month prior to elections. We've already been told in a round-about way to expect increases.

On top of the increase in premiums, don't forget that every penny your company pays towards your health care will become TAXABLE INCOME on January 1st...

It's definitely a double whammy for the middle class...the very people he said he would help.

Not true. Although the portion of your health insurance premiums paid by your employer will be shown on your W-2 beginning on January 1st, it will not be included as part of your taxable income.

True. But you know that little box is going to get included sooner or later.

I was told that it will become taxable as of January 1st.... obviously we wont pay until April 15, 2012 but the clock starts ticking this January...

Honestly I hope I'm wrong but I was told it counts towards taxable income...

Medical cost these days are freakin stupid. That is what drives up the health care cost. I just had a kid by cesarean and it was over $15,000.00 total bill. My cost was almost $3k. Wonder what the same deal cost 10-15 years ago

You will pay a "fine" for not having insurance. This will help pay for everyone else's medical coverage. Thank You!

That is the most ridiculous thing of it all. You are going to pay a fine for something you opt out of doing because of your personal preference. What a load of shit.

Thats like having to pay registration for a vehicle even though you don't own one.

What about all the people that don't have insurance because they know the someone else will pay for them like the gubment. Those fools need to be fined I think.

I get that is part of why they are putting this in place. Let me ask this though, how are you going to get someone who doesn't work or can't work to pay the fine? How does someone who has no money pay for a fine?

Polls show that out of 45 million uninsured people, most of them can easily afford it. It is their CHOICE to not pay for it.

Does the bill explain how people on welfare, social security, or unemployment are supposed to pay for it? I haven't heard anything on that issue.

Now that is a problem. There has to be exceptions for disabled and others. But lots of people that should and can pay for it don't because they know they can get a free ticket.

That is why its so retarded. People who don't need health care will have to pay out of pocket. I refuse to get any kind of government support (welfare, food stamps ect) and make too much to get it in the first place. Obama is a fool. The only people crying healthcare reform are the people who can't afford it, and want to get the same care hard working americans get. This screws the working class.

The bill will increase the welfare pot. Almost anyone will be able to get government care is what I think I saw somewhere. You won't have to pay for it if you don't work, just now the working class will be paying for it. Will be alot easier for people to get on govmentfare I believe.

Lets look at the Goverments History.

Social Security -- It's Broke and out of money.
Post Office -- It's Broke and out of money.
Fannae Mae -- It's Broke and out of money.

Healthcare -- They are going to break it and it will be out of money.

Do you want the goverment to "Raise the minimum age" you can use the healthcare?
Do you want the goverment to "Lower the maximum age" you can use the healthcare?

Do you want the goverment to tell you when and how much of a drug you can get? (Look at Taxachuttes healthcare on rationing.. .IT SUCKS).

I just got an email from my company that "we will be making significant changes to our health care benefits." I take that to mean we're gonna pay a lot more.

According to them healthcare has increased nationally 8-10% per year the last decade. In 2009 healthcare cost for my company was 12% and 2010 is projected to be a 17% increase.

They're gonna hammer us on insurance cost next year...

I can't say for 2010 yet, but as the prices have increased over the years I've only had minor increases to deductibles, but substancial increases in premiums.

I hear that if the republicrats regain power, that they are either going to try to repeal, or defund Osamacare. Well, they had better repeal it. Cause if they defund it, its still there and its still alive it just won't be functioning. They what happens when the next time they backstab the public and lose power? Que democrats/communism, reactivate Obamacare. And we get raped tomorrow instead of today. But we still get raped.
