What will this actually result in? Just much higher electricity costs? I mean I know that the democrats think that we're all billionaires but I was just wondering.

Thats the plan the Democrats have had for a while now. We might restore some balance in November but it won't go into effect until Jan 2011 so we are screw between those time periods unless we put up a major bitch fit !!!!!

I'm of the thought that if you get ousted on a Tuesday, you've got til Friday to clean out your office hit the bricks. The new guy will be there Monday to get started.

I'm sure there is a reason to wait until Jan. but I don't see it.

Ergo, Lame Duck Session. They'll call Congress to push as much BS through between Nov and Jan.

The two Republicans are probably the traitors in Maine.

I think we are over due for an energy debate, it was suppose to happen in 2010. I think something will get through, but we probably will not hear much about it, because this issue is less partisan and more regional. in the end this whole thing is about money

Here's an energy debate: Build as many nuclear power plants as possible. Build lots more oil refineries. Drill for oil everywhere especially offshore. Stop sending money to south America and the mideast. problem solved.

The ass of society needs a visit to the ER.

Our government needs our help, they have an addiction. Our government is addicted to our money. Since they always have our best interest at heart it's time we return the favor. We need to have an intervention, for the governments own good of course. It's just irresponsible for us to let people with a known money addiction continue to handle our money. Lets have an intervention now so we can help these sick individuals.

nuclear power would solve this nations energy problems for the next century, problem is no one in the nuclear industry is wanting to take on that venture, and there is not much of a lobby for it now. as far as refineries go, there are 148 operable refineries in the US but only 137 are being used, over the last 5 years we have not come close to 100% refining capacity. there really is not need to build another one.

as far as drilling, I think we need to make sure american resources are benefitting americans. even though we live in a free market, I dont want to see the chinese, russians, or europeans drilling for oil in the area the we just opened up.

I think we all ought to burn natural gas for power and hell even in cars. Most commuter cars and light and medium trucks as well. You know how much natural gas we have? Enough for 50 years of energy usage. And they are discovering more all the time. Burns clean, costs less.

Thumbs down

we will likely have a new energy policy by the end of the year. alot of the cap and trade horseshit wont be in it but I believe that it will be more focused on the transportation side. Noone can argue that we have a decent energy plan unless you think spending billions on foreign oil is a plan. NG is plentiful and I think it will be a huge part of the new plan. The 65K tax credit might help convince some people also

I'm sure you'll see the Chinese drilling in the gulf soon once this administration is done peddling the last industry we once dominated.

Right and you are going to see more of it.... who owns the largest share of US T bills in the world? Who are the major buyers.... how do you propose we repay them?

Kick out BP and bring in China..... seems simple enough.
