Yes, there are plenty of good stocks out there.

you could probably short some BP and make some money! The future doesnt look good if they do not plug the oil well. who wants to invest in some cheapass company who totally fucks the environment due to negligence?

Are Ford or Bank of America still looking to be some solid buys? I know BAC has came along way since the banking fallout, do they still have some upside?

Our government needs our help, they have an addiction. Our government is addicted to our money. Since they always have our best interest at heart it's time we return the favor. We need to have an intervention, for the governments own good of course. It's just irresponsible for us to let people with a known money addiction continue to handle our money. Lets have an intervention now so we can help these sick individuals.

I hold BAC

BAC is trading at a 16 P/E if you use last quarter earnings and projected earnings for the next three quarters. Price to book value is under 1 at .73, like most banks right now. Historically that is a very low number. Their dividend is $.01. As long as the Fed keeps interest rates low they are going to do well like the other banks. You aren't going to make any fast money with BAC besides a dollar or two, real money will come from holding it for years and letting the market embrace the banks again.

I wouldn't touch Ford, too much debt. The run they are on could come to a screeching halt if the economy turns around. Although I did notice they made a $3 billion payment on their debt in April which helps. They still have a long way to go. That stock is trading on hype right now in my opinion. Some of that hype is going to get stolen when the new leaner meaner GM comes out with its IPO later this year or early next. GM has lots of press and no debt so the bandwagon jumpers will be all over it.

It has really got the shit kicked out of it lately because of FDA nonsense. I'd like to buy some more.

That's why I was asking I was reading about that.

Drug stocks in general have been getting beat up when it comes to stock price versus earnings. Their earnings are ok but their P/Es just keep going down. When you are talking about good companies with solid earnings and dividend history that makes a good case for a buy to hold long term. When the industry becomes hot again the sheep will buy and the stock price goes way up. Of course that could take a decade.

Meh, the government still has billions of their shares to unload. The hedge funds are snapping them up. I own some of their shares but I think the price is going to go right back down as the government fires their wad.

If you want to buy banks for a long term hold there is always Bank of America. Some jack ass come out over the wire today and said he thinks they are going to go back to $27 a share soon. Who knows if that is true.

Whatever you buy, keep it for a while because it is going to be a while before things get a lot better.
