This is not new, news.

He won because the powers that be, seen Medina gaining supporters, and tossed in K. Baily in the race just to divide the votes up, just so Medina would not get enough votes in the primary.

And I for one have never voted for a P.O.S. liberal. But I'm thinking about voting against Perry.

Looks to me like the liberal media is scared of Perry vs bama for the next Presidential election.

They've been bashing Palin so much, that even the libs were getting sick of it so now they think they've found a new target.

I don't have a problem with Perry and this "issue". Now Perry not supporting AZ's new law is another thing.

So what is the governor of one of the largest states supposed to do when the "free" mansion is damaged and unlivable? Does anyone know what requirements the temporary residence must have for security?

I am usually with the Perry bashing on spending, but you lost me on this one.

Umm, didn't Hutchinson jump into the election before Medina did? It was well known for several years that Hutchinson wanted to run for governor. She almost did in 2006 but didn't want to challenge Perry. So I'm not really buying that...

But I'm with you on your second point. At the very least, I'm going to give Bill White some serious consideration.

He's been living in a temporary house for two years. Two years! Are you telling me that the State cannot repair the governor's mansion in two fucking years and that it will take an additional two years for the completion of it?! That's ridiculous.

Fires do horrendous damage. What the flames don't get, the water and weather does. I'm in the process of rebuilding a fire-damaged house. Once we got into it, we realized it was a total loss. It's taken 6 months to get it about 90% completed. The demolition of all the damage took us almost a month. This is a 2600 sq. ft. house. The Gov's mansion is huge.
I don't know all the details, but $25k a month for a rental seems pretty damn high.

How did he win? Cause Texans will vote for any liberal fag who claims to be a republican/conservative. Obama could probly have a strong shot for texas governor if he simply went on TV and said "I'm a republican".

Well, if you consider posting facts "bitching", then you're right.

Do you see Texas heading in the wrong direction currently? I certainly don't.

Let's take a look at Bill White. In a nutshell.....

* Attorney for 14 years

* Served Bill Clinton for 2 years

* One of the "Turn in guns for groceries" type leaders (these programs rarely work)

* Big open liberal arms for Hurricane Katrina victims....... and then WHOOOPS! Houston's homicide rate increased 13.5%

* After Hurricane Katrina, White failed to put a successful evac plan in place. When Hurricane Rita hit, evacuations were ordered under White's lead without a feasible plan, causing ALL freeways to clog and backed them up for several hours causing chaos.

* White's SafeClear Program for getting stalled vehicles off of roadways was a nightmare. It hurt local towing businesses, was linked to deaths of motorists trying to push their cars off of roads themselves, increased drive times 86% etc etc.

* Has a reputation for welcoming illegal immigrants. Encouraged home owners to use illegal immigrant labor to clean up after Hurricane damage.

And I'll never figure out why Bill White didn't endorse bama, but took an ad out in an African American magazine with his picture next to bama's. There was also a piece in the "Austin American-Statesman" where Bill White's spokesman trumps up Bill White's close relationship with the bama administration regarding energy. Would you trust Bill White when it comes time for Cap & Trade to come to Texas? Yikes!

I guess I would have to see if he turned down much less expensive houses that his security detail said were acceptable and he just chose to take this house for no real reason. Would that be fair to both of you to know before passing judgment?

Surely your hatred of Perry wouldn't override your desire to have our Governor safe, right? I mean, you don't know for a fact that happened, do you?

I'll give you all of that, at no point was I trying to imply that White is any better a candidate than Perry, but leaving it at "Barack would be proud" reeked of the blind partisan rage that's been running rampant around here as of late; you supported your statement and that's all that I'm looking for.

Not sure where I said anything about Perry making the decision?

I'd find it to be a real head scratcher if that house was the only one deemed secure when placed in the context of an extensive search.

You said he should be living in a place less extravagant and the discussion was about some slamming Perry for not choosing a less expensive place. Did you join a thread discussion and not know what it was about when you chimed in?

Our government needs our help, they have an addiction. Our government is addicted to our money. Since they always have our best interest at heart it's time we return the favor. We need to have an intervention, for the governments own good of course. It's just irresponsible for us to let people with a known money addiction continue to handle our money. Lets have an intervention now so we can help these sick individuals.
