Arizona House adding new restriction on Candidacy.

All candidates must show a birth certificate to be allowed on a ballot.

Apparently so, why don't you post it up for them?

But do you need to produce an ID to vote? Poor people can't afford IDs or wallets to carry them in, checking for IDs is the same thing as having a poll tax and those aren't constitutional!

Yes, please post the birth certificate for the uninformed idiots like me who haven't seen it.

Having ID = poll tax. I hope nobody hurt themselves reaching for that one.

You need $10 to get a state issued ID and poor people can't afford $10.

Cannonball has posted it 50 times. He is just going to post the article showing the "Certificate of Live Birth" and you guys are going to say "That isn't a birth Certificate, that is a Certificate of live birth". Then someone is going to bring up that he traveled to the Philippines on a Kenyan passport ect. Nobody is going to convince anybody of anything, and we will have this conversation again in 3 months.

Back to Arizona. Good idea.

I'm not on Cannonball's side, just tired of hearing the same argument.

But as for Arizona, man they been kicking some ass lately. They are really starting to crack down on illegal immigration, which is something I really wish texas would do.

I want to see one interview with someone who remembers having classes with him at Columbia or Harvard or a girlfriend from college, hell even his drug dealer. Someone that remembers him ever actually being a student.

Because I am a poor loser republican who can't accept the reality that my party lost the 2008 presidential race by running a shitty candidate.

Republicans drove the car off the cliff and democrats had to do all of the work getting it back out of the ditch

Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds at dfwstangs.net

its funny because that article cites the department of hawaiian home lands, which is a special benefits program for native hawaiians. the program requires that members be real hawaiians, not less then 1/2 the blood of the original pre 1778 hawaiian people. the person who wrote the article makes the argument that since the DHHL (department of hawaiian home lands) prefers it when a person provides a certificate of birth (because there is more data on it pertaining to genealogical history) when proving your ancestral history. the article concludes that, because the certification is not the preferred choice of the DHHL, then a certification of birth should not accepted as proof of citizenship.

however the DHHL website states: "Although original birth certificates (Certificates of Live Birth) are preferred for their greater detail, the State Department of Health (DOH) no longer issues Certificates of Live Birth. When a request is made for a copy of a birth certificate, the DOH issues a Certification of Live Birth."

basically the DOH keeps all the birth certificates, and does not release them. to prove who you are and where you are from they issue you a certification of birth based on the certificate that they keep on file.

Indeed. I see nothing wrong with requiring a birth certificate for the OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. Sheesh..... it's not like its a job for delivering pizzas.

I saw an article about what arizona is doing, and the comments were peppered with moaning and crying by the liberals and illegals that are opposed to carrying valid ID. I'd like to see texas nut up and enact the same kinds of laws.

Next maybe they can start punish businesses for hiring the SOBs and maybe they will stop having a reason for coming here.
