They are just diluting it, not joining.

They can try to dilute it, but the opinions of the people won't change.

I don't really see them switching sides as much as joining a third, unaffiliated one.

Personally, I'm happy to see Democrats joining it, it shows that the Tea Party isn't about partisan politics (dem vs repub), it is about the resolving the issues at hand.
