Better get started, as it will take you a few months to get through it and a few years to understand it...

Why should I read it, when 99% of the people who voted for it haven't?

I'm sure it's enough to split most people in half. Hopefully my new Obamacare will cover the expenses!

Nice pic!

And oh so fucking accurate.

Dave, your take? You, more than any of the rest of us, should have a better grasp as to what this really means.

View of you and your fellow MDs? I've talked with three thus far and they are all three ready to cut the femorals of a select few...

And she looks happy about the size of that cock!

As an ER doc, I may benefit from this bill somewhat....if everyone has insurance then theoretically I will get paid more...however, govt has control of prices and patient care and we have seen how fucked up things get when they get their greedy hands on them. I think that the govt will completely change the way medicine is practiced in this country. You will have to get permission from a govt bureaucrat for any medical procedure or clinical decision. Who knows how this will affect our patients and how long it will take patients to get their needed healthcare. If we use Canada and England as a model, then the sick patients of this country are fucked. When you have to wait 6mos for approval for a procedure I cant help but be concerned about outcomes. Right now, our country has the best healthcare in the world. Our outcomes and survival rates for diseases like cancer are higher than other countries. This is likely to change if govt gets control of healthcare like predicted.

So... Some doctors will benefit (though in the long run I don't see it, as they WILL fuck you on pay eventually. More for them, after all).

Patients will die.

Got it.

This is so fucked. I'm usually always "glass half full" but I'm finding it damned hard to see the positive in this latest development. Damn.

Thats why I said theoretically. If they are footing the bill, they will decide who gets what...they are already taking some $600billion from medicare which includes a 21% cut in physician compensation. And thats just getting started. So, everyone will have insurance, but what we get paid for our services will be decided on by daddy govt...

Therefore, anyone wishing to maintain among men the name of liberal is obliged to avoid no attribute of magnificence; so that a prince thus inclined will consume in such acts all his property, and will be compelled in the end, if he wish to maintain the name of liberal, to unduly weigh down his people, and tax them, and do everything he can to get money.

This will soon make him odious to his subjects, and becoming poor he will be little valued by anyone; thus, with his liberality, having offended many and rewarded few, he is affected by the very first trouble and imperiled by whatever may be the first danger; recognizing this himself, and wishing to draw back from it, he runs at once into the reproach of being miserly.

-Niccolo Machiavelli, The Prince, "Concerning Liberality and Meanness."

I've talked with some who took medicaid/medicare in the past (which is basically where you guys are heading), and they told me all I needed to know about the system. You render services, then settle for a third of what is status quo.

Not something to which one would look towards. Don't envy you bro. You've worked your ass off to get where you are, and now...

Me? I'm waiting on cancer to hit me. I painted military spec components for about ten years. I've painted so many pieces and parts that went into jets, choppers, tanks, etc for the military and absorbed so many chemicals it's not even funny. Stupid, yes. Enjoyed contributing though.

Can't wait on the day that I get denied care.

Don't worry. If Obamacare is anything like the VA care, they will do everything in their power to not give you any help with it. When you go to see the dr in July and tell him about your cancer symptoms, don't be surpised when he tells you to come back in February to run some tests.
