Should all drugs be legal?

I have recently been thinking about this. I have to agree with Ron Pauls stance but after I suspected a friend of using drugs recently, I have second thoughts about it. A drug user can affect everyone around them.
I think that if someone knows exactly what he/she is getting into then they have the right to do what ever they want to their own body. All the basic drug groups have been around for years and have more testing than prolly anything else. So the information is out there. I think the key is education and families actually talking to their kids about drugs. Its not much different than talking to your kids about plastic surgery. I think the most important thing is don't lie to them and don't tell them one thing while you are doing it behind their back.

These are issues we will have to face when and if it is ever decriminalized. What are some of DFWs opinions?

Show me in the constitution where it said the feds have any say in this subject?

This is a matter left up to the States or People. The constitution is very clear on this.

All men should know Honor first, above all else!

Honor is not holding your hand out for something you did not earn.
Honor is not forcing your ideas, or belief on others.
Honor is not something given to you by way of job, or title.

Honor is learned, earned, practiced and respected by all decent men and women.

We've got bigger things to worry about people.

I mean seriously. Worrying about some illegal effing drugs while ignoring the REAL ISSUES that are being addressed around us right now?

<---Off to get another beer, which will be consumed while cursing the brainless and spineless fucks surrounding us all who will not get off their worthless asses while sticking their hands out wanting a cut of what those of us who contribute to society kill ourselves to produce.

Concur.

I used to think the standard "just legalize pot" the other stuff needs to be mandated.

Our "War on drugs" is so inefficient and a waste of time AND money. We'll never, never, never stop it. The real honchos will never be busted either. Even if we did the impossible and stopped every single dealer, on up to the head honchos - 10 minutes later a thousand other people would be gunning to take their positions.

If we're really that fucking worried about controlling drugs, maybe we need to control our borders and ports better first.

Either way, I say as it stands now there really is no point in them being illegal. I think legalize, but employers and such should hold rights to not hire and still do drug testing.

With that said, we see how that works with cigarettes. Cigarettes are legal, but then the government controls where they can be smoked and so forth.

If you want to make the drug fight worth it, at least fix all the other auxillary (sp?) problems first.

Because we tried that once. The only thing that it accomplished was to make a ton of money for the Mafia.

Anytime you outlaw something that the public wants, you create an instant black market. That market can only be regulated by one thing, violence. Prohibition should have taught that to all of us but everyone is so caught up in the "war on drugs", the morality if intoxication, think of the children, blah blah blah that they can't think straight. The reality is that Alcohol is a much more powerful drug than Marijuana. It also kills A LOT more people. We also ignore the fact that people that break the law, don't give a damn about the law. They will do whatever they like. Laws only apply to LAW ABIDING people.

I say that we at least legalize Marijuana and see how that goes. At the very least we'll empty our prisons of people in there for simple possession and perhaps dealers that have no history of violence. But ending the entire war on drugs would save us BILLIONS.

You've heard the phrase that an insane person does the same thing over and over and EXPECTS a different result. Well the war on drugs in proof that our government and we the people are in fact, insane. It's time to try something different. Cut the bullshit and address the fuckin' problem.

If the police were to round up all the illegal drug users whether its heroin or hydrocodone and all their drug dealers all at once, what percentage of Americans would be in jail? My guess is about 50%.
Even more importantly, how many of those people would be DEA, law enforcement, or anyone else that works in the enforcement of those drug laws.
I would be willing to bet that if we knew the truth, we would have to make all drugs legal just to start over with a clean slate.

Does anyone think it would be higher than that?

Why should we ban any illegal drugs. Make them all legal. They all had purposes in the medical world anyways before they were made illegal. ANY FUCKING THING in this world is bad for you when you abuse it, period. Just remember everything in this world revolves around money, so if theres a reason why they are illegal look to the dollar.

People still have plenty of reasons not to do harder drugs above and beyond it's illegal. It's not like the whole nation would suddenly turn into crack heads if it were legal. Let's face it, it's not THAT hard to get illegal drugs.

However, businesses still hold the right to drug test you if you want their job. Most people don't want to be cracked/methed/etc out. I think the only things you would realize a significant increase in would be certain RX narcotics and marijuana.

I agree with letting a company determine what drugs their employees can use without losing their job. From a business standpoint all they may be worried about is production.
You most certainly would see a lot more people taking prescription drugs. But if you are going to make all drugs legal, why would you need a prescription? Start having doctors write out suggestions.
I guess we would have some civil issues if Mexico starts selling Viagra though. I would sue the hell out of someone if they sold my kids something and said it was something else with the intent of getting them hooked on that something else..

Some people have to be slaves, yes. A modern day slave, but still a slave, of sorts. They are known as wage slaves. They get locked into a situation and can't get out either because they feel responsible to someone, or because they lack the initiative. These are the people you see pushing carts at wal mart, or flipping burgers at age 40.

Getting the government to ever cut to the bullshit and address the problem, is all that is wrong with this country. They might do that if their very own lives depended on it.

To legalize the drugs would cause an epidemic. Look how many kids are hooked on drugs now. The broke ones still ur shit while the rich ones take mommy and daddys money. Drug dealers would still be around. Simply because they would be able to get the shit cheaper with out the goverment dipping their hands in the cookie jar. People kill fellow human beings simply because they are broke and want some dope. The robbery goes bad and some one gets killed. I think legalizing would be crazy. Not only that then tthe companies that decide not to hire crack heads would have all kinds of lawsuited against then because they would be drug profiling.

I'd not want to see drugs fully legalized w/o gun restrictions being lifted. Just like alcohol, there will be crazy druggies out there that can't handle it and I ain't gonna try to fight a crackhead.

By you saying if drugs were legal it would cause an epidemic, that says that if they were legal you would do it. Kids hooked on drugs now huh? I dont know about you but I dont know any kids hooked on drugs and if I did I would try and help them. Drug dealers will always be around. Some people call them doctors some people call them hector.
I think their would be less drug exchanges ending in violence then there are now. In todays drug world if someone steels your shit all you can do is call one of your other meth head friends and have him go fuck him up for a $20 rock. If you have not been doing anything illegal you could call the police and say "Ive been robbed". And the police can enforce the law according to his rights. Maybe even recover your shit before he smokes it all.
Drug profiling......lol
hahahahaha I like that one. Actually I think it would be the opposite. I think some companies would prefer employees with certain drug habbits over ones with none. Therefore the only people screaming would be the ones that feal it is unfair to be overlooked just because they dont take a bump of meth before they hit the assembly line.
hahaha whos steelin whos shit now?

I mostly agree with this statement, and am satisfied with the current gun laws in Texas. The only restriction I would personally like to see changed would be to allow open carry if a legal gun owner so chooses.

Dude u must be an idiot if u think there are no kids on drugs. Don't know of you've heard of the cheese epidemic. And for companies to hire drug users would cause a liability. Issue for the company. Some junkie coming down and doing something to himself or a co worker. And do u know the statistics for police catching the crack head who stole ur or my shit is. Not high at all. With drugs more readily available yes more people would do drugs. Not me but others yes.

Who screams on the job? Also, assembly lines are becoming an increasingly insignificant part of the workplace scene in the U'S. nowadays, outside of the defense industry.

Did I say there are no kids on drugs? No I did not. You said Look how many kids are hooked on drugs now. (looks around) I said I dont know any kids on drugs and I bet you dont either. Dont try to start exaggerating facts. The truth is when a kid does drugs I guarantee most of the time they are getting them from their parents either by steeling them or doing them with their parents. Either way its a break down in parenting to blame.
So show me... How many kids are hooked on drugs right now?

In Austin on the radio a guy named smokey mcpot used to call in every day and take bong hits while he was on his break at work. They would see how long he could make the water curdling noise. I am sure Austin has a few fortune 500 companies like Dell etc.

Lol, I don't understand why you think every is going to be on drugs. Is the only reason you don't smoke crack because it's illegal?

Because there is just something morally wrong about allowing your fellow man to poison himself to death. When you have some measure of control over it. However small that measure may be, at least you know you did what you could. If you don't understand that then...

You see the word would? That means I am speaking in terms of if the drug was legal. So a better question for you would be what types of companies would prefer it...not name a fortune 500 company that does. I am not saying its right I am just saying I think it is more likely to happen then people suing because they didnt get a job cause they smoke crack and were drug profiled. Which is what I was replying to when you jumped in. thank you and have a nice day.

I agree but it is hard to help someone when the biggest concern is them not getting caught and thrown in prison.

^This is exactly it.

Our government needs our help, they have an addiction. Our government is addicted to our money. Since they always have our best interest at heart it's time we return the favor. We need to have an intervention, for the governments own good of course. It's just irresponsible for us to let people with a known money addiction continue to handle our money. Lets have an intervention now so we can help these sick individuals.

make all drugs legal?

god no.

The ramifications for that legally are too much of a slippery slope as to what is allowed to happen of other questionable practices that are "victimless crimes" as well.

I would be horrified to find out the lady running a daycare center was doing PCP in the breakroom. Sooner or later in that society something horrific would happen.

With the war on drugs its damned if you do, damned if you dont.

They would never legalize all drugs, prisons are a big business!
