Senator Scott Brown... vote WITH the Democrats

The new "jobs" bill just got though the Senate thanks, in part, to new Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown.

I told you guys. This man is NOT a Conservative.

WASHINGTON, Feb 22 (Reuters) - A modest job-creation bill advanced in the U.S. Senate on Monday as the chamber's newest Republican bucked his party and sided with Democrats on a $15 billion package of tax cuts and highway spending.

Republican Scott Brown joined four other Republicans, 55 Democrats and two independents to overcome a procedural hurdle that sets up a final vote later this week.

Brown was widely hailed as a conservative hero after his surprise victory in Massachusetts last month gave Republicans enough seats to block most Democratic legislation.

His election prompted President Barack Obama and his fellow Democrats to call for increased bipartisanship, and an earlier version of the bill was written with Republican input.

But key Republicans withdrew their support after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid scaled it back.

Brown said the bill was not perfect but would help put people back to work.

"I hope my vote today is a strong step toward restoring bipartisanship in Washington," he said in a statement.

The bill includes a tax credit for businesses that hire unemployed workers, subsidies for state and local construction bonds and $19.5 billion to shore up a highway-construction fund.

Much of the cost is offset by a crackdown on offshore tax shelters.

I'd rather have Ted Kennedy still in office.

A jobs bill is no "Barry Care". Yeah, it pisses me off, but the guy is from Massachusetts for crying out loud. Ted Kennedy still makes this guy look like Ronald Reagan.

Were you really that surprised? When Democrats from Massachusetts are so extremely left-wing, MA Republicans are still going to be liberal leaning as well compared to Republicans from any other state. Just look at all the bipartisan welfare crap that has been passed there all these years. The only way to get a MA citizen in congress who is more on par with the average Republican nationwide is to get a MA anarchist in the seat. And even then, if you're lucky enough, he'll at least be the equivalent of a centrist from anywhere else, which may be the best you'll get from there.

They're all full of shit.

Our government needs our help, they have an addiction. Our government is addicted to our money. Since they always have our best interest at heart it's time we return the favor. We need to have an intervention, for the governments own good of course. It's just irresponsible for us to let people with a known money addiction continue to handle our money. Lets have an intervention now so we can help these sick individuals.

I agree. We should choose our next President from the ranks of someone who has never been an elected official at the federal level.

If you get a chance to harass him in a car, ask him how he'd solve the economic issues relating to the improper and inefficient land usage due to wind farms, ethanol production, and solar collector plants?

LOL... I thought so. You'd have better luck asking DFWStangs that question, rather than Sen. Brown.
