Seems plausible to me.

They need to make those rooms removable/modular.
That way if the tiny japs commit seppuku over night, they can just bury them in that, and slam a new one into the empty spot.

That was exactly where I was thinking we would go in the thread I started about unions. Imagine if those workers had unions, and not like our pussy unions but unions that actually fought for fair rights of HARD workers like we used to have. The gap between the middle/lower class and upper class's have a huge gap now because employers can fire and hire at will. My guess is so they dont have to offer raises, benefits, etc.

I spent the night in a capsule hotel once.

They suck ass in a major way, especially if you're a 6'2" gaijin. The newer ones look better with flat screen TVs and the beds look thicker but they are still too small for someone like me.

The community facilities are actually surprisingly good. Very clean and of course everyone is very polite. Some even have Japanese onsen (very hot soaking baths)

Seems like an excellent place to get murdered.

Maybe in larger cities here. Most likely you won't ever see that in use here because we aren't land constrained in the US like they are there. Japan has some of the most expensive real estate in the world.

I would've been happy with digs that nice in the 3+ years I lived aboard ship.

But yeah, when I was in Japan, those were referred to as "drunk hotels" like the reporter said. I had no idea that they were being used as they are now though.

Wow...the new prime minister wants to make a house a constitutional right?

Damn right! I wish I had a TV in my rackspace onboard ship. I mean, you're almost completely private in one of those!

In many US cities that would be the case. No so much in Japan. Murders at still so uncommon that they make the national news.

Exactly. Even in the major cities, we could get by with something better..

He's a liberal douche like Obama. His wife actually claims to have been abducted by aliens. Like the Democrats over here, the liberals in Japan are positioning themselves for a major defeat in the next elections.
