Senate to Vote on Healthcare Bill This Weekend

According to Mitch McConnell, they are going to vote on it (push it through) at 1am Monday morning.

We're doomed. Fucking doomed.

They got Ben Nelson's vote by bribing him with goodies for his state (Nebraska). According to the polls in Nebraska, he's committing political suicide by voting for this bill.

Oh that's right, we all hinged our hope on a democrat keeping their word. Dumb us. Fuck Nelson, outside of political suicide, I hope he commits the real suicide. Coward motherfucker :revolt:

Over 60% of citizens don't like it. I figure, roughly only 10-15% are informed about the measures this piece of freedom robbing shit bill goes. When the population sees their check lighter by 20% plus the quality of care going shit, trigger fingers will start itching.

Dammit. Santa Harry is jamming a sleigh right up al of our assholes this year.

Then add another 20 to 30% missing from you checking account from higher EVERYTHING because of the carbon crap. Oh wait, we can blame the EPA since the feds declared CO2 to be a hazard. The EPA will levy a tax on electricity and your gas, and every damn thing else.

Hummmm. Itchy trigger fingers.

Lets see, the first revolt was due to a 3% tax on tea.
3% of the population would rise up because of a 3 % tax.

So let assume 3% do it again.
Population of the U.S. 305,529,237 http://www.usnews.com/articles/opini...-counting.html

60% you say will be upset? OK 60% of U.S. population is 183,317,542.2
If 3% of those people could be considered a true patriot that would be,
5,499,566 people armed and willing to get this country back to the constitution and the way the founding fathers wanted our country to be.

1,426,713 personnel are currently on active duty and a further 1,259,000 in the seven reserve components. That's a total of 2,685,713 <----Wow, big pay roll.

It has been guesstimated That only 1/4 (25%) of these people will actually pull the trigger on their own people. So lets say 50% just for arguments sake.

In conclusion. These politicization are risking civil war on behalf of big farma and the insurance company's.

These are the fighting #'s as I see them.

People on the side of true freedom and the U.S. constitution. 5,499,566. + unknown # of honorable people defecting from the military.

V.S.

Slaves for a tyrannical government 1,342,856 + lots of cool war toys.

Damn, I think the politicians are backing the wrong horse.

And for those of you that think we are not ready.
Watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ae74oMMQ4ak

Good music too

Then think about this. What does the great bear do when confronted with hundreds of stinging bee's?

This will be yet another piece of bs legislation that gets crammed up our asses over a weekend while those of us that will be paying for this crap try to get good use of what little free time we have. When will they be able to pass shit like this once we all have to work 24/7 to pay for the tax hike we are all about to be fu*@ed with??? Only 10 more months til the mid-terms, I just hope things aren't so far gone that the new congress will actually have a chance to undo some of this crap!!!

It's going to take a Republican super majority like the Dems have now to roll any of it back. If not, the Dems will fillibuster anything they try to do. I don't think that would happen even if Republicans won every election next year.

Well what I can make of it, is exactly what I thought it would be.

Simply (assuming you can simplify 2k + pages)

You must buy insurance that meets their standards, you will pay taxes on this insurance, and you will go to jail if you do not. And not to mention all the other crap in there, including gun control stipulations. <----- I don't know if that's still there.

The way I understood it from Fox News is that Sen Nelson was swayed by capping Medicare/Medicaid in his state and taking out the abortion language that he was unhappy with. He said that if the langauge slips back in when the bill is combined with the House version then he will vote against it.....

I cannot believe that it is legal to have other states pay increases in Medicare/Medicaid while another state doesn't. I am wondering if Perry is going to involke the 10th Amendment and simply ignore the law when it is passed.

If this country and the rest of the world goes down the shitter, the Dems will point to this debacle-of-a-health-care-package, and claim Barry had a successful presidency. That's what this is all about- him wanting to change history forever. They will sacrifice their seats, states, and this country's well being, for this one bill.

2010 is looking more and more interesting. If the dems manage to pass this POS bill I foresee a rout come election time, especially as people become more informed of what the bill contains.

It is unfortunate that it takes a bad bill of this magnitude to get people interested in what is happening in DC, but it may also be the tipping point for many people, the beginning of some good political change for the country.

The one thing that is in Bama's favor for re-election is that he automatically gets over 95% of the black vote beause of his skin color. There were loads of black voters who had never voted before, but came out of the woodwork to vote for him.

This type of support can bleed over to candidates in other political arenas because of bama's continuous contact to his supporters via email and phone calls etc.

After his election, it isn't safe to assume anything at this point.

Any Dem throughout history gets 95% of the black vote. With 100% black turnout, there aren't enough black people to make a big difference (15% of the populace)...whitey put him into office, and whitey will have to take him out....of office.

Exactly right! Once the Messiah came out and said his Presidency would be judged on whether or not this passed it was a done deal.

I hope he and his cronies get run out of office on a rail and give some conservative Republicans, some conservative independents, and some tea party candidates a super majority and they get this bill neutered while the Messiah is in office.

Was voter turnout higher for blacks when bama was elected? Could larger concentrations of blacks in urban areas affect certain politicians elections in either a negative or positive way?

I love how this piece of legislation does nothing to make insurance more affordable. All it does is mandate that you have health insurance and raise your income taxes if you do not.

What happened to that whole thing about not raising anyone's taxes unless they made over 250K a year? Obama is just another liar.

I watched the vote last night. They paid off the Nebraska senator and made it where other states would pay their medicare increases. There's still a vote on it, a vote on the combined bills left.

Nope, it isn't over yet.

The House and Senate bills have to go to a conference committee for reconciliation. Then the reconciled bill goes back to each house for a vote (no changes can be made at this point).

If abortion funding stays in, it may not pass in the Senate. If it comes out, it may not pass in the House. Same goes for the so called public option.

I do feel pretty shitty over the whole thing, but it isn't over yet.

There are not enough blacks to determine an election. As someone else said earlier, it's all relative, and that percentage won't really change.

It also mandates that your current insurance MUST equal the government plan or it does NOT qualify. You'll have to get insurance to the government standards.

For example, if the Government plan minimum is:

Must have abortion coverage, must have coverage of 2 million dollars, must have eye coverage, a dental coverage program of 500,000 dollars, and a ZERO Deductible.

Your current coverage doesn't cover all that, then it wouldn't count and you MUST upgrade your current coverage to equal the government plan.

If you were paying 100 bucks a month, now your coverage just went to 500 a month.

This is Just a example.

There will be no "free" insurance from what I can tell. You will be required to buy insurance that is up to their standards or be fined. The govt option is gone as far as I can tell so there will be no "generic govt healthcare", you will have to shop around with the private companies.

This bill is just giant subsidy for the existing insurance providers... Now the government is forcing it's citizens to purchase an item from the private sector. How much premiums will go up is the question. The government will be absorbing some of the cost, but that just means we get hit somewhere else. Businesses that will be forced to provide insurance To employees will pass the cost on to the consumer or will fold. Great piece of legislation

I just hope all the young people who voted for this "change" enjoy paying more for insurance (by paying higher premiums for people who are sick or older) and/or being forced to buy insurance even when they don't want it. You got your change idiots, and it is being rammed up your ass!

You know it all makes sense though. Its just like the law years ago about car insurance although I think car insurance. Just another way to generate revenue. That is the only way I can possibly think that this healthcare change will help the deficit like Obama claims. By punishing the poor that cant afford to cover insurance.

So really nothing will change except honest people will be charged for being poor and not pay their taxes to avoid fines thus making them "dishonest".

At least car insurance (liability) is meant to protect all of us if we get hit. Health insurance doesn't work that way. They just want the control of 16% of our economy. It has absolutely nothing to do with our health and well-being.

Car insurance is a mandate (liability) for if you hit someone else and cause them harm. You don't have to buy insurance for yourself. It's to protect someone else from you.
