California to hold additional 10% tax on wages

Are the people in California really letting this happen? This is incredible, fuck giving out a tax free loan to the state, especially one that's busted. How many of y'all have ever received a tax free loan from the state?http://maverickphilosopher.typepad.c...thholding.html

Our government needs our help, they have an addiction. Our government is addicted to our money. Since they always have our best interest at heart it's time we return the favor. We need to have an intervention, for the governments own good of course. It's just irresponsible for us to let people with a known money addiction continue to handle our money. Lets have an intervention now so we can help these sick individuals.

I can't wait to do my taxes this year, and see how much I owe california for the pleasure of working in their state. I think it's going to be about $10k, right off the top

How long before somebody sues?

Times are tough, some people won't be able to pay their bills because of this! How the hell can they do this to people? (Rhetorical, I know it is because they don't give a crap.)

Edit: The math in the article doesn't add up to me...$4 a week???

I think it's an additional 10% of the tax....so if you had $40 withheld before, it'll be $44 now. Not an additional 10% of your income.

You are correct. But it is still total bullshit. Basically the State is getting a bigger interest free loan from its citizens.

Ahh, that makes quite a bit more sense.

So now they tax to fit spending, instead of spending to fit taxes, huh?

Not that is makes it any better but it is a progressive tax. Your effective rate on the first 47,000 or so is 4.3%.

After that your marginal income is taxed at 9.3% up to 1MM. Over 1MM it is 10.3%.
