As much as I hate that man I like the looks of this one. BUT I also know it will be filled with lies to sway people that will not double check what they see.

I'll give him credit for trying to tackle difficult topics that are on most of our minds, but he misses the point more times than not - ala, columbine was walmarts fault. I'll watch it to try and pick out the few factual points he makes (if any) and just as a way to see a different perspective on the matter.

I love how Bush is still pretty prevalent in the trailer. I guess he did at least show a shot of Pelosi, but it'll be interesting to see if he mentions the new administration or not and places any blame on them in the film. I somehow doubt it.

In bowling for columbine he took some of the kids that were shot to confront walmart because they sell shotguns and ammo to 18 year olds.

So, I watched about 1/2 of roger and me before my laptop overheated and shut down.

Sad, just sad.

For those of you not familiar with this movie, it was shot about 15-20 years ago. The hubris of GM is quite evident, and the rot had begun that led to the eventual bankruptcy of GM.

Gotcha. I thought the other guy meant that Moore missed the point, and that the point he missed was that Wal-Mart was responsible.

If Michael Moore fell in a hole and died tomorrow, I have to say I'd laugh. The man lives in a fantasy world and invents most of the 'facts' he pushes in his piece of shit films. He hates the USA every bit as much as Hugo Chavez. does.

If this country is so damn bad, fucking LEAVE!

I'm no fan of Michael Moore either, but he has a point about Wal Street. The common man, the everyday investor, needs to be able to count on captains of industry acting with integrity.

That is the one about Flint, MI , right? I was interested in his films after I watched that a decade or so ago. His slight crackpottedness severley progressed after that though.

Yes, it was. It seemed to me mostly factual, although what was shot on film was probably carefully picked to meet an agenda.

I don't think he hates the country, just the way it's being run, and he sees himself as doing his part to improve it by enlightening others. That's his right, good for him.

I do, however, think he's a worthless piece of shit.

I thought of the rabbit lady from that movie when I read the story about the woman who had the daytona coupe that phil spector had owned. Mostly because that woman was said to have burned herself to death with her rabbits and it seemed like something the rabbit lady from that movie would do.

Difficult to do, when the recession started mid Bush administration.

Moore was telling Stern that another "prank" he pulled was wrapping the Stock Exchange building in crime scene tape. The NYPD pulled up and he was a little freaked, started telling them that it was just a joke, and they'd be done filming it, etc. The cops told him to take his time. That they lost 40% of their pension in that place.

As much as everyone hates Moore, his films are usually pretty right on timing. His first film talked about how GM was screwing America. That was in the 80's.

I can see why the far right hates him. But he's no more insane than Glenn Beck is. Just on the other side of the fence.

The thought of an idiot/hypocrite like Glenn Beck actually putting words on paper that form sentences makes me giggle. That guy is the best thing to happen to anyone who's even slightly left-leaning. His fake crying shtick is the funniest thing on television.

I love how you make assumptions about me. Actually I don't. I never listened to Beck either, merely read his book at Hastings and found it interesting. Anyone who knows anything about the Constitution would agree with many of the things he says.

Actually, my assumptions about you are based on your own words:

You're a liberal.
You worship Obama and see no problem with him socializing the country
You see anything done to worship him as "not an issue." Such as the kids singing about him

The only problem I have with that is that it wasn't Obama's idea for those kids to do what they did.

It was Kanye West's. (JK)

Not a MM fan but this one does look pretty funny, might have to download it once it comes up. The citizens arrest part is hillarous and crime scene taping the stock exchange is funny as shit.

The trouble with doing something right the first time is that nobody appreciates how difficult it was.

Amen brutha. And the very name of the film may as well say "I fucking hate america, everything it stands for, and everyone who lives there". I mean come on.. saying that capitolism is a love story? Something that's just some fantasy or false illusion that we need to get over? So what do you propose, sir Fatass? Socialism? Communism? Please feel free to move to the pansy ass great brittan where something like 1/4 of the populace does not have to work and just stays home drawing welfare, cause they can. Meanwhile, we capitolists will live high on the hog.

All his films just scream "I'm lazy and I don't want to work. So I am going to say that no one should have to." That's all I can hear when he is talking. By calling capitolism a love story, he is obviously suggesting that we have a different system. This would of course have to be socialism/communism. Where, his fat lazy ass thinks he wouldn't have to work. But just like any liberal, he is waaaaay to optimistic, and has it all wrong. He would be forced into slave-like labor with very little wages.

incorrect usage of "too"

God damn, man. Did you pass elementary school English?

And you're judging a film based solely on the name. That's absurd. How about you go watch the movie then come back with some legit critique. There's nothing wrong about wanting to improve the way your country is run whether others think your ideals are wrong or not. At least he's doing SOMETHING aside from not knowing how to spell shit we learned in elementary school. I'm still laughing at "Brittan." Hahahah

I don't like Micheal Moore either but this movie looks different than his others.

Welcome to no-one-is-here-to-impress-you,-you-tool.

Are you really stupid enough to think that I can't see the little red fucking line below my misspelled words? This post just proves to me what all of us already know, that you have a complete inability to use deductive logic. If you could, you would assume that I am just lazy, and won't stop and correct the mistakes. Which would get you the truth. So, following your dumbass trend, "Hahahah" is not a word. That's hilarious that you would post that. I'm going to dwell on that for a while. And if you think the way I spelled "brittan" is funny, you've got way to much time on your hands. Fag. I love how ignorant dopes always jump on someone's spelling and grammar, when they have no counter point. As if it were somehow relevant.

You're misspelling words we learned in elementary or middle school. There's no excuse for that, guy.

And I offered a counterpoint as well, so you're wrong there too. It sure is easy to push your buttons though.

Roger & Me - Michael Moore has a strong opinion of Roger Smith and wants you to agree with him.

Bowling for Columbine - Michael Moore has a strong opinion of gun control in America and wants you to agree with him.

Fahrenheit - Michael Moore has a strong opinion of Bush and wants you to agree with him.

Sicko - Michael Moore has a strong opinion of health care and wants you to agree with him.

Capitalism, A Love Story - Michael Moore has a strong opinion of capitalism and wants you to agree with him.

Mix in some facts and sprinkle it with innuendo to guide the viewers to your opinion. Call it a documentary to give it some validity.

Personally I think ol' Roger Smith got a bad wrap. Many of his initiatives failed. Having come out of the accounting department Smith saw the writing on the wall (which ultimately came to be this year for GM.)

Moore was pissed at GM because it shut down Buick City in Flint (along with others)... Flint being the birthplace of GM and the UAW. These people were destined to lose their jobs, not because of Smith (he spent much automating GM which reduced costs and workers like Moore's family and friends.) These plants shut down because of Toyota City and their fully automated production lines. Moore makes it seem as if these layoffs happened over a period of a couple of years and not decades. The writing was on the wall and Smith read it and was challenged at every turn.

He'll take certain facts like the heydays of Cadillac and show pictures of prosperity in Flint... during the 60s. What he fails to tell his viewers is Cadillac had an 85% market share in the luxury segment in the 60s. Cadillac now has 15%.

He'll talk about GM's profits during a time when GM was laying off workers but fails to tell his viewers these profits were a result of import quotas. Ford and Chrysler wanted them to remain and Smith wanted them removed (free market capitalism.) Unfortunately for Smith, GM's progress to automate wasn't fast enough and Toyota and Honda took over market share at a surpising rate.

In his new flick my biggest issue (and I've only see him interviewed, some clips and the trailer) is he hasn't made the distinction between free market capitalism and crony capitalism. He has lumped the two together.

So, while Moore can provide some entertainment... to call his films documentaries are laughable. A little non-fiction sprinkled with fiction to make his opinion seem like fact.

He does make some interesting points and certainly points we need to address in this country. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer and the middle class (the backbone of any capitalistic society) is languishing and falling into the "poor" category.

Back in the 60s the difference between the average CEO pay and the lowest paid worker was 40-50 times. Now it is 500 times. CEO's have become free agents and rock stars. We treat them as franchise quarterbacks instead of CEOs. The American Dream of the past is not the American Dream of the present. Gone are the times, like my dad's generation, where you could work for the same company for 30+ years, retire with a full pension along with everything you saved along the way and have a blast in retirement. I saw the writing on the wall in the 80s and realized there was no way I was working for a Fortune 50 (I used to.) I needed to create my own pie. I didn't want the pie cut into 10 pieces and have some dolt take 9 pieces and allow the 9 others to fight over the last piece.

My 401K is now a 400K (was 301K)

What's the most ironic thing in this thread is Taylor asking someone else to prove something.
Then making out spelling to be more important than saying something substantial in the first place.
He's a boot licker by definition.

Enlightening others with skewed "facts" to fit his agenda.

Also understand he's a pretty typical gullible 21-year-old.

Ive only watched a couple moore 'documentaries' .
You have to be a total fucking idiot to watch more than five minutes.
Anyone that isn't a complete moron can see the moutain of lies he builds.
Impressionable is the best definition i can give of anyone that claims to be a viewer of his flicks.
And that's the polite term.

Welp, that's what's great about the USA. We can say whatever the hell we want and get away with it.

Let's be real, everyone who has an agenda skews facts in their favor. Just like Micheal Moore does, they find the most extreme cases they can, then say SEE I TOLD YOU HEALTHCARE SUCKS BECAUSE THESE 5 CANADIANS ACTUALLY USE THEIRS INSTEAD OF COMING ACROSS THE BORDER!!!

Sean Hannity is a great example. All throughout the election he looked at snippets of Obama's speeches, took them COMPLETELY out of context so that they said what he wanted them to say, then slammed Obama for it. It's biased-journalism at its best and anyone who can get the word out to a broad audience is guilty of it.

You're misspelling words that are posted right in front of your stupid ass, as in the thread topic.
