So i was over at the liberal forum...

And you would not believe the sheer amount of people who are out there, that are very much against this good country. And im not talking about all the dog dicks of the world, the ones who are from another country and are currently living there. These people are from right here. It says their location below their avatar. There were 4 or 5 of them in one of my threads who were diligently trying to convince me that a fucking Monarchy is the only way to go. It was clear that they honestly believed this. What spawns such idiocy? I don't think even the hard left wants another damn monarchy. There are also admitted communists and outright fascists that will chime in. Not just dumb kids, but people who are clearly adults who are capable of arguing their point, even as insane as it may be.

Seriously. I never thought I would meet anyone who wanted to be a slave. Dang, maybe slavery is ok, after all. I mean hell, if you got people begging to be slaves, why not oblige them?

It's amazing...the amount of sheer stupidity on lib forums, isn't it? I visit Fark often and read comments on some "news" stories, and I'm always amazed how low these guys go to bash America, and worship other countries at the same time. They bash anyone who dosen't believe in big government and mock the ones who speak out against this soft tyranny. But the sad part, like you pointed out, are most of these comments are made from ADULTS. It's a sad world really.

Oh yes, the world is full of them. I have two favorite personality types on those boards:

- The educated professor type - thinks communism is a valid answer to any problems the country may face. I usually ridicule them by saying something to the effect of "Communism has failed miserably everytime it has been tried and in a few parts of the world is still failing but let me guess..IT WILL WORK THIS TIME".

- The anarchists - Usually punk kids that think they know everything. I explain that if I ever see them at one of their little anarchist gatherings I'm going to beat the shit out of them and take their wallet. You know, to give them a little taste of anarchy.

Here is the link. Although I don't think you will be wanting to spend any time there. These people are really set in their ways about being America haters. Regan was fucking right! Every generation does have to fight for it's freedom, or the fucking mentally handicapped will try to take it away! I just don't see how they can have a complete and utter lack of foresight. And they fucking love the government over there. It's really like they see the government as god or something.

There are a lot of "educated" elitists out there that think they know what is best for america. You see this disease spreading across college campuses, especially in california.

Unfortunately, none of them have ever lived under a communist government, but their textbooks tell them that it is a utopia. Never mind that communism has never worked anywhere.

And, they sure enjoy the freedoms that they have here in the USA to spew their stupid ideas.

My experience has been to watch out for people with book knowledge of something but no practical real life experience.

I can't find a single person that has lived under a communist regime or a state of total anarchy that has said it was a good thing. To be totally honest, there are people who would say that but I have yet to meet one.

Several weeks ago I sat next to an older German lady on a plane ride. She was raised in Austria. Across the isle was her husband who was a Czech freedom fighter. She told me "these people have no idea what they are voting for, I saw it in Germany, we both saw it, people realized but it was too late to do anything, once these people have power you have to kill them. I'm suprised no one has killed him yet (Obama)".

Crazy old people or experience?

They probably assume that they'll be a part of the ruling party and will control people that are beneath them. It's funny that the people supporting communism the most will be the first ones to suffer under it.

Yeah they really don't want to push too far. (even though of course they will) When it comes right down to it, we're the real killers and they are naught but a bunch of crying pansies. I think that in a way, the conservatives of the US are sort of like the Romans of our time.

Sad to see so many embrace the ideology of Communism/Socialism. Too bad they all skipped history class in high school or college.

You might actually do that considering your head is so far up your ass. That shit's probably been building up for quite some time now.

Extreme liberals are no worse than extreme conservatives. It's the one's that are willing to use logic and not tradition that will help this country progress as it should.

Extreme conservative:"Ship them mexicans out of the country, they're taking up too many jobs." This is while a crew of five illegal immigrants mow their 5 acre lawn for under $100.

Extreme liberal:"I want to help fight global warming." This, while not realizing that WAY more energy was consumed making their faggoty prius than normal gasoline burning vehicles.

I hate hybrids.

You can usually negotiate with a lot of crews. My roommate and I mow our own lawn but we still get the occasional mexican guy show up with a truck, a trailer full of lawn equipment and 3 or 4 guys. It had been about a week and a half since I had mowed once, and he showed up and offered to mow, and I kept telling him no thanks, I'm gonna do it this weekend and he went from wanting $30 to taking $15 this time. I almost let him, but I didn't care. I don't mind mowing.

If they would go down in price in the used market i would think about getting one just to do my work commute and save money at the pump. Then when gas goes back up to $4.60 a gallon I won't take such a big hit to the wallet.

What's interesting is hybrids are worse for the environment than regular cars as those batteries are seriously toxic.

However, Honda has a new car out, runs on hydrogen which is the most abundant element in the universe. Now that's a car worth looking into.

Look into how to harvest hydrogen, transportation and storage and let me know how that all works out.

The best way to make hydrogen is to use nuclear energy to split water. Since we have few nuke plants and water can be rather hard to come by, I see this as a non starter. Put a nuke energy plant on the coast and use seawater both for hydrogen and use the power from the nuke plant for a desalinization process to make drinkable water - then I think you'd have something.

Then, there is the prospect of driving around a vehicle strapped to a hydrogen storage tank/bomb. Whoops.

Actually, it's a pretty neat idea from Honda. I saw it on Top Gear. The only hydrogen pumps are in Cali and the only exhaust it gives off is water.

Honda solved global warming without pussy batteries. Next?

Then, there is the prospect of driving around a vehicle strapped to a hydrogen storage tank/bomb. Whoops.
Exactly, nuke plants. Otherwise, its energy negative.

Yup, and that's the distribution/transportation side of things.

So, this is your idea of debunking something? Toss in sarcasm, and suggest a conspiracy theory?

No more than your "research" into the actual cost and ability to create hydrogen, as well as its safety implications, delivery and storage.

Well, how do the hybrids actually have triple the enviro impact? Is it in the creation of them? Or the disposal?

Couldn't they be re-used, perhaps the chemicals recycled? I mean it's not like it's nuclear waste or anything lol

You did not even look into it did you? There is no storage. Delivery is on demand. 3 amps to create it. The man drove it across the country, filling up with water on the way. No hydrogen storage tanks.

Besides, even if you had to store it. What makes you think a tank of gas is any less volatile?

Well they can't replicate what stan meyers did with his HHO tube of rods. But I think he was on to something when he said screw that, let's use the injectors themselves to do the conversion and pumped water right up to the engine.

I did.

Electrolysis of water to get hydrogen, take more power to get the hydrogen out than what you get. (cost) To mikeb's point, if we had more cost effective/unlimited electricity providers (nuclear), electrolysis would be more viable. But since most generators are carbon based in the USA, its not.

Hydrogen is less volatile then gasoline, but you're looking at high pressure tanks (safety & cost). You could pipe it like natural gas, but you'd have to run all new lines (cost).

If it was cost effective, it would probably be commercially viable. This is America. If someone would make a decent buck at it, what makes you think they wouldn't be try to mass market it?
