Ya think he'll try to get a little "thank you" from the two on the way home?

I know, poor taste. Can't help it when it comes to the adulterer in chief.

It's an intermediate step to tone down N Korea's recent muscle flexing. Dumbass thought he could use it to blackmail us for more goodies but thankfully no one caved in. The reporters were a front to get a "friendly" diplomatic atmosphere with the US.

so he freed the prisoners by just talking to them? not even a single shot fired? no expensive US military operation? why hasn't anyone thought of this before? all we had to do was send someone to sit down and talk with them, and they would give us what ever we wanted, its so easy

You're not understanding. The PRETENSE of this diplomatic meeting was to "free the reporters." It had already been decided that they would be freed. This was a meeting to establish some dialogue with the US in order to back off the escalating tension.

Congrats Bill, seems like you did a good thing.

I hope you punched KJI in the face while you were there, that guy is a nutcase.

I'm no nut hugger but Clinton is a master deal maker. He demonstrated it a few times while president. Even with the Monica affair he used his skills.

I saw this on a MSNBC post.

brainiac-dumdum 2009-08-04 03: 27:13 PM Damn, how long was Clinton over there?
=================================

Not long. The reuters article that announced he was over there was (released) at 3:13pm. The article that announced that the journalists were free? 3:23pm.

Willie works fast!

Being best friends with Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao didn't hurt either. Call me a conspiracy theorist but Clinton helped China get to where they are now and they hold the choke collar around North Korea's neck.

I'm sure there was a little more to it than that. Obama (via Clinton) offered aid in exchange for their freedom. No mention of disarmament on N. Korea's part was probably discussed...

This is the first thing I thought when I heard they were getting on a plane and leaving. I can hear him now "I just got you ladies rescued from N. Korea, care to join the mile high club with me?"

When the last missiles were recently fired by N. K., Hillary said that they were just going to treat N.K. like a misbehaving child and ignore them. Now Willie's over there talking with them?

This is stinkier than lewinski's cock pouch.

"Who's up for some cigars?!"

I think this validates the asshole regime of Kim Jong Il as a legit government.

I'm happy for the ladies and their families, but this did the U.S. no good from a "world view" standpoint. We basically negotiated wth a terrorist (rogue) regime. He got great photo-ops, and all it told the bad guys of the world, is that we WILL let them use our people (that they unlawfully kidnap) as pawns for negotiations.
