Wonder what Obummer is gonna do about Korea now..

This is lovely.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,521616,00.html

Quote:
BREAKING NEWS — South Korean media are reporting that North Korea may have conducted a nuclear test.

YTN television is citing an unnamed government official and the Yonhap news agency cites a ruling party member as saying the nuclear test may have occured Monday morning.

South Korean President Lee Myung-bak has convened an emergency meeting.

North Korea had recently said it would again test a nuclear device — its first was in October 2006 — in reaction to tightened international sanctions after it fired a long-range rocket in April.

News of the test hit South Korean financial markets, sending the main KOSPI share index down four percent in late morning trade, while the won dropped more than 1 percent against the dollar.

... Just not by North Korea. I mean, come on, if they can't even get their advanced missile system to go 200 miles without shitting out, how the hell are they going to be able to even come close to building a nuke?

It's all a bullshit ploy for something else they're distracting us from.

Our government needs our help, they have an addiction. Our government is addicted to our money. Since they always have our best interest at heart it's time we return the favor. We need to have an intervention, for the governments own good of course. It's just irresponsible for us to let people with a known money addiction continue to handle our money. Lets have an intervention now so we can help these sick individuals.

NK also said they would dismantle their reactors in 2006 and just a few months ago they stopped complying and said this

In a statement carried by the Korea Central News Agency, the ministry said the US was insisting on extra inspections that would infringe upon its sovereignty.

"The US is gravely mistaken if it thinks it can make a house search in DPRK as it pleases just as it did in Iraq," said the statement, using the acronym for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. "We have decided to immediately suspend disabling our nuclear facilities."

Now they say they will do it again this month. I'm not holding my breath.

Thank you Mr. Bush for being soft on NK in 2006.

OH noes...more harsh language from Washington and from the UN.

Let's not kid ourselves, it isn't all Obama's fault, Bush should have handled this, Clinton should have handled this. This is complete failure by our entire government.

They aren't going to kill Americans, they will most likely kill South Koreans or Japanese before then.

I'll agree, they started development when Clinton was getting head. Who knows what those crazy bastards would do. They lack the technology now to hit the US, except possibly Hawaii, but given time they will master a longer range missile

What could he do? He was having enough trouble trying to get funding from congress for the operations we had going on already.

That being said, there was NO reason for him to not send a hit squad over to kims house. Or a nuke, ya know to "show em how it's done"

ZER--O announced he's asking the UN for a resolution

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...unch-defiance/

"President Obama said he strongly condemns North Korea's "reckless action" in a nuclear test and short-range missile launch early Monday, adding it only pushes the United States and the international community to "redouble" global nonproliferation efforts.

"North Korea will not find security and respect through threats and illegal weapons."

"Now, the United States and the international community must take action in response," he said. "We will work with our friends and allies to stand up to this behavior, and we will redouble our efforts toward a more robust international nonproliferation regime that all countries have responsibilities to meet."

He said the launch only encourages a redoubled effort for nuclear nonproliferation that "all countries have a responsibility to meet."

At 2:10 a.m. Monday, the president issued a statement with a similar message calling the tests, which the rogue nation also conducted unsuccessfully in April, in blatant defiance of the United Nations Security Council.

The U.N. security council is scheduled to meet Monday.

He added that the danger posed by North Korea's threatening activities "warrants action by the international community."

The president has made nuclear nonproliferation a top priority for his international relations agenda.

He said the United States will keep working with allies and partners in the Six-Party Talks and with the U.N. Security Council.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen said on CNN Monday the Communist nation poses an "increasingly belligerent" challenge.

"It's really important to emphasize the diplomatic path," he said, highlighting the U.S.'s close alliances with Japan and South Korea."

looks like nuclear nonproliferation will be another Obama failure , like Gitmo, the economy, oil independence, defending the constitution, the security of the USA and anyother thing he touches.

After that test in '06, there was a UN resolution adopted to prevent this from occuring. THAT happened when Bush was there. Now there's no one with any balls to enforce the resolution with sanctions.

Yea, UN resolutions and sanctions will help.... NOT...
The populace in North Korea are starving and eating tree bark.
What are they gonna sanction?

The guy asked what Bush did after the initial test. I didn't say it was effective...especially if it's not enforced. Remember...the Koreans didn't do it again while Bush was in office, but have already defied the UN twice in the 4 months that Barry's been there.

What he'll do is nominate the next cog in the Obama machine for Supreme Court appointment: a woman born of a Puerto Rican immigrant family, that was raised in a govt housing project (Obama found his own Rosetta Stone here) I am so tired of every story from his camp being either "historic" or a "milestone".

Thank you. Kim Jong Talleywhacker was threatening to nuke San Fran when we "went" to Iraq. I guess that wasn't as much of a threat as satallite pics of camping trailers carrying "known WMDs".
I guess Bush should had more stipulations with his payments to Kim Jong (or maybe he did? )

Until the Messiah actually follows through with action instead of talk we will have these types of threats from rogue nations that we should be able to squash. I sure would push the Messaih if I was a mean dictator who wanted to stake out a claim on the big stage right now.

I actually don't think he will have a problem (I know it sounds funny) but he has no choice but to respond, lose the respect of the American People. The real question is whether the U.S Navy will just bloody their nose or completely cripple their infrustructure. The regime in North Korea has no idea what the true meaning of "firepower" is. Lets just hope that the Chinese don't get involved.

True..Though I think that the Chinese putting a stop to NK is nothing more than monetary.....The Chinese don't want anything to upset trade.

I am definitely concerned about our troops on the DMZ. I think that he is crazy enough to lob a nuclear weapon. If he does, we will have no choice but to complete turn their country into ruins. This could really get ugly fast.

I understand they get their oil from the Chinese. The Chinese just pretty much broker the deal, because they don't have much (if any) of their own. If this is true, the Chinese could shut his ass down in a heartbeat.

A little birdy told me that the failures of the missiles NK has launched in the past were neither defects nor accidents.
