tax increase vote for income over $104,425

Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, which has jurisdiction over federal tax law, is seeking a vote this year on legislation that would increase the income tax rates on some Americans who earn as little as $104,425 per year

Remember during the campaign it was 250K. Now it's 100K, which will affect a lot of people that are not what they would consider wealthy.

100k a year is not wealthy. It's what I consider upper middle class.

Obama Wants to Raise Taxes on Power (Gasoline, Electricity, Natural Gas, etc..) So anyone who uses any of these must be making 250k+

Obama raised the taxes on cigarettes... so anyone who smokes must make 250k+ a year....

Obama wants to raise taxes on your estate when you die (To take nearly 50% of it)... everyone who dies must make 250K+ a year....

Now he wants to raise taxes on anyone making 100k+ a year? I think thats what was his point all a long.

This should shock no one. We all knew he was a lying sack of monkey shit from day one. There's no way he can implement half of his programs without us "rich" folk paying for it.

Good news: My wife and I are RICH!!! I never knew it would be so easy. All my dreams have come true and I didn't even know it. Here I thought we were just a couple of middle class schmucks, busting our asses to make a living, but now with the stroke of a politician's pen, we're rich.

Bad news: Uncle Sugar is coming to get it.

Making 100k is nothing for a moderately successful married couple with professional type jobs.

Not surprised at all at this. Next thing that will happen is elimination/limitation of itemized deductions, and an increase in the overall tax rates.

Obama is a lying sack of shit, and it makes me sick that so many people bought into his lies. Hopefully they'll learn and elect someone better next time.

They are all dishonest.

I wonder if there is a spike in 1099 usage and a lot of 'expenses'?

Miserable cocksuckers. As more tax protests pop up and more democrats scream for tax increases there will come a point in the battle where everything comes to an explosive head.

Mike, you and I (and few others on this board) have been around long enough to have seen this coming, i.e. Jimmy Carter. I've always assumed we can tell when Barry is lying to us, because his lips are moving.

Yep, I remember very well the carter misery years. High inflation, gas shortages, and the beginning of US problems in the mideast due to failed carter foreign policy.

I just hope that with the tax increases on the low income people the media will eventually roll out video of him making his promise to hit only $250k and above incomes, and crucify him like they did bush sr ("read my lips"). If he keeps pissing off the media I can easily see them turning on him. It would make my day.

And here I thought the Obama-clan was just gonna weasel out of the "no tax increases" by back door-ing it through smaller deductions and credits.

I was about your age (19 in '79) when all of Jimmy's maggot-infested policies began to fester and spread. Iran had taken over our embassy (and our citizens in side it), and embarked on what would be a more than year-long disintegration of Carter's (and the democratic party) political strength. 20% car loans, 15% mortgages, double-digit inflation and unemployment...all at the same time. We were standing in gas lines on odd/even plate number days to pay for expensive gas.
Just about everything Carter implemented, failed miserably...thank God. When folks say we need to stand behind the POTUS, no matter his policies, you can tell them to eat shit and die...Been there, did that, and got the T-shirt.

Most of our problems today is we have such short memories. People forget we have already had a President (as you said above) that was a scared rabit, all talk and no backbone and we have lived the "line and policy" and they don't work. Let the next four year fly by fast, without to much harm being done to our countyr.

We don’t need to restore the American Dream; we need to wake up from it.

Like vertnut said, we've already been thru this once. The voters who voted in obama probably weren't alive when carter was in office, and believed all of obama's bullshit. "Change".... not all change is good.

The scary thing is that obama is moving far faster than carter did.

Here's two hours of him doing exactly the opposite of what he promised to do if elected.

Our government needs our help, they have an addiction. Our government is addicted to our money. Since they always have our best interest at heart it's time we return the favor. We need to have an intervention, for the governments own good of course. It's just irresponsible for us to let people with a known money addiction continue to handle our money. Lets have an intervention now so we can help these sick individuals.

That's my point. Their desire to tax us into poverty is only out weighed by my desire to stop them dead in their tracks.

By barring them from events such as the press award ceremony at the white house.

"According to the Internal Revenue Service, the second highest income bracket—currently set at 33 percent—kicks in at an income level of $104,425 for a married person filing separately; $171,550 for someone filing as a single person; $190,200 for someone filing as a head of household; and $208,850 for a married couple filing jointly. Under Baucus’s proposal, the tax rates for all these people would jump to 36 percent."

Wasn't obama's promise not to raise taxes on a FAMILIES making less than 250k ?

So if I understand your post, if you made 208k a year, you would make your male-spouse work? Very harsh.
