China is worried?

Quote:
BEIJING, March, 13 -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said here Friday he is "a little bit worried" about the safety of Chinese assets in the United States, urging the U.S. government to ensure the security of those assets.

Wen Jiabao, Chinese Premier "We lent such huge fund to the United States and of course we're concerned about the security of our assets and, to speak truthfully, I am a little bit worried."
...
According to the U.S. Treasury, China held 681.9 billion U.S. dollars worth of U.S. government bonds as of November. Xinhua News Agency correspondents reporting from Beijing.

It appears the dam of confidence for the US$ just sprung a leak. China holds $681.9 billion in government debt and at 3% receives over $19 billion a year in tax money, which is more than GM received.

What's fucked up is that they used our money to buy our debt from us.

I was wondering how many people actually realized this is all just a vicious circle.

hell, just

send them 681 billion, We could make a 681 billion dollar bill and just send them one. Why not? We don't have anything to back up the money we use now anyway so what difference does another 681 billion make?

Defaulting on a debt by a country is not really a good thing.

If Obama can pull a trillion out of his ass, he surely could send China all we owe. Sure, the dollar would be worth less but what's it worth now if the truth was known that the fed reserve can't cover 1/10th of what's out there.
