And on another note (and reading between the lines), there appears to be quite a bit of friction between obama and pelosi. I can't wait until this issue blows up.

I heard this was still at risk. All but the most moderate republicans are against this. I'm going to laugh if this festering boil gets shot down.

If I had to guess I would say they cut out everything that might have helped and kept all the crap.

What dumb fuck republicans agreed to back this bill? The dems couldn't have passed it without a few republicans jumping ship to thier side.

I just heard the Dems are shooting for 3 republicans. Arlen Spector is one of them, and two more from up north. They will consider this a "partisan" bill passage...with 3 (three) TOTAL republican votes from the house AND senate. What a fuckin' joke...

How selfish a country we have become. We are going to spend all that money now to lesson the recession. We are borrowing the money and placing the burden on our children and grandchildren. I believe that it will just make the recession longer, like Japan.

Like Hannity said tonight -- I'm curious as to how much money is going to the districts of the few Republicans who vote for the bill.

Not at all, I'm saying that with the trend in bailouts the Chinese are going to lend themselves into bankruptcy. They keep giving easy credit, and we keep taking it.

I see the US saying "All this money borrowed and it's not worth it so we're going to stop paying"

I've had this same feeling. We'll renig on the loans (like so many americans are so very good at), and well challenge any country who wants their money to come try to take it.

Ok, I agree with that. I think the US Government will be bankrupt within a decade.

I have no desire to find out what happens to the Union when that happens. Frankly I think the US will cease to exist as it currently does.

Hard to say. Other countries have nationalized debt. I think the country as we know it changed when Obama was elected.

Here is an interesting read and a breakdown of who we owe what.

The House version of the stimulus bill emphasizes helping states and localities avoid wide-scale cuts, while the Senate plan focuses more on tax cuts.

‘Put This Plan in Motion,’ Obama Urges Lawmakers

He does not care what the bill looks like as long as there is a bill on his desk before Feb. 15, 2009. He said he wanted one on his desk when he took office and the Dems. did not deliver and now he is into the "I want it now mode" because he backed the date up until the middle of Feb. He may get his wish but has any one seen the details of the list I have read as much info as I can find about the bill and no where can I find the rebate check that he promased to all those people at his rallays and boy were they counting on it to pay their house pmts. and buy their gas.

New Hampshire Fires First Shot Of Civil War - Resolution Immediately Voids Several Federal Laws, Threatens Counterstrike Against Federal “Breach Of Peace”
February 4th, 2009 Posted By Pat Dollard.

660px-flag_of_new_hampshiresvg.png

The Betrayal:

The New Hampshire state legislature took an unbelievably bold step Monday by introducing a resolution to declare certain actions by the federal government to completely totally void and warning that certain future acts will be viewed as a “breach of peace” with the states themselves that risks “nullifying the Constitution.”

This act by New Hampshire is a clear warning to the federal government that they could face being stripped of their power by the States (presumably through civil war!

The remarkable document outlines with perfect clarity, some basics long forgotten. For instance, it reminds Congress “That the Constitution of the United States, having delegated to Congress a power to punish treason, counterfeiting the securities and current coin of the United States, piracies, and felonies committed on the high seas, and offences against the law of nations, slavery, and no other crimes whatsoever;. . . . . therefore all acts of Congress which assume to create, define, or punish crimes, other than those so enumerated in the Constitution are altogether void, and of no force;”

Federal gun crime laws? Void. Federal drug crime laws? Void. The gazzillion other federal criminal laws that deal with anything other than the specific enumerated crimes? ALL VOID.

One would think that if any lawyer anywhere in the entire country was worth his salt, all federal criminal trials would have ended years ago. This seems to prove that most lawyers are dullards.

New Hampshire deals a complete death blow to the pending federal hate crimes legislation by pointing out “That, therefore, all acts of Congress of the United States which do abridge the freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, are not law, but are altogether void, and of no force; . . . . .”

Later in the Resolution, New Hampshire makes clear what the feds are now risking if they proceed further: The removal of all powers from the federal government by the States!

Quoting directly from the Resolution:

Follow the link for the full text of the resolution. I think there are 8 more states that have drafted something similar.

The sub prime debacle was set in motion prior to W. Whether or not anyone wants to admit it, we owe Clinton for that one.

I also think that the huge step off of the cliff can be aimed at Chuck Schumer.

I believe this was his way of setting up an October surprise to ensure an Obama victory that created a perfect storm of cataclysmic events that they had no clue would spawn into the freaking out of the American populous. Now they are scratching their collective asses trying to figure out a way to stop what they created. Throwing borrowed money at the problem will only make it worse.

Stimulus plan theft

What better way to steal 1 or 2 percent from the 57 trillion invested in US dollars.

Every dollar will automatically be worth atleast 1% less when this goes over.
Thank Rinos. I will send money to support anyone running against the Republicans that may vote for this.
Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine, and Pennsylvania's Sen. Arlen Specter

What senators buddy owns this company?

WASHINGTON - "Fore!"

The federal government is preparing to spend millions to purchase a fleet of small electric vehicles that critics compare to golf carts.

The $838 billion economic stimulus bill that passed the Senate yesterday contains $300 million for the government to purchase a fleet of "green" cars.

The dems message of fear only works when there is something to be afraid of. Look at what obama has been preaching - fear, gloom, doom. Ronald Reagan preached hope and faith (not obamas brand of hope). Therefore, your postulation that old chucky did this on purpose to start a process that would lead to fear is quite interesting. But, alas, it leaped out of their control.

This will help everyone out, check it.
It is time we acknowledged a basic feature of human discourse: when considering the truth of a proposition, one is either engaged in an honest appraisal of the evidence and logical arguments, or one is not. Religion is the one area of our lives where people imagine that some other standard of intellectual integrity applies.

He wants to sign it on Presidents Day? I guess so he can be on TV...again. With his unhealthy-like obsession with Lincoln, I guess I understand.

At the rate it's going, we'll celebrate "Barry Year", and be off all year due to unemployment.
