Whose the messiah now?

http://corner.nationalreview.com/pos...c1MjRiMTNiZmM=

and http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20081123/...sa_obama_taxes

Gitmo prisoners still aren't going to be treated as POWs and he isn't going to cancel Bush's tax cuts like he said. All he needs to do now is go hunting.

You know, if Obama would have said that he wasn't going to raise taxes, I just might have voted for him.

Somewhere in the universe Malcolm X is angrily pointing his finger and saying, see I told you he was a house Negroe.

Those who never read any of the speeches by Malcolm X will be confused by this statement. Never mind.

He just wanted the big house, that's all. He said whatever was necessary for him to obtain it. Now that he's there, he wants to keep it for a while. Chances are he will lean farther towards the center than we ever thought possible. His ego needs for him to be liked, and I honestly think he will strive to be "liked". I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire, but I don't blame him. Look what Bush has gone through since 9/11.

When I was in Germany the only cheese you could get on base was reboxed velveeta. Black and white label that read "Cheese". Of course you could go off base, drive an hour and pay 5x the price for local stuff if you wanted.

You know, this is actually a good thing.

#1 - He's going to be breaking his campaign promises much to the dismay of his legion of sheep aka supporters. This will help ensure that he doesn't get re-elected.

#2 - Obama taking a step or two towards the center makes me breathe easier at night. It might also indirectly make us a tad safer as well. Maybe the terrorists and tyrants of the world will reconsider their future plans with Obama not being the nut case leftist he was in the Illinois State Senate.

on #1 that'll only work if conservatives do their job and point it out to them repeatedly.

on #2, he's still a Liberal and isn't in power yet. He's going to do whatever he thinks he can get away with. However he's going to have bigger problems to deal with than Al Qaeda. The Russians are already testing us in Venezuela. What's going to happen when they decide to send one of their bombers to Bolivia?

You guys are missing the boat on #1. 75% of his supporters don't even know what his campaign promises were. All they know...he promised change. No matter what happens, he will come out smelling like a rose to this 75%.

Man he even has people from the Huffingtonpost and moveon.org pissed off.

"The only things changing so far are his campaign promises. America bought a fake Rolex."

Oh yeah he plans on immediately lifting travel restrictions to and from Cuba. That should help slow down illegal immigration and the drug trade. We might as well cut 25% of Florida off the map and give it to the communists.

Are you asking if Americans are happy the man most of them elected is not the man that he said he would be?

If I had voted for him I'd rather see him try to fix the economy before increasing taxes. You don't think he'd be dumb enough to increase taxes in a shitty economy like this, do you?

FWIW he alluded to mostly centrist policies in his DNC acceptance speech.

I did too. I said I would prefer him to fix our economy than go through with plans that would destroy it. Logic should prevail over stubbornness.

I'm assuming you mean I didnt answer if I would be happy or not - of course not but what good would his plans do for me if the economy is in the shitter? Fix it first, then implement your agenda. After the economy picks up and he wins the 2012 election you'll see that tax increase he's been talking about.

wait you mean like bush sr, bush jr, clinton, etc... oh noes a POTUS has lied to get into office. you all act like this is something so new that we all should be shocked by this. Both mccain and obama ran on lies, it comes down to which one was better at telling his side of the lie.

Try reading it a little closer. I said "we." The general populous "we" on this forum did not vote for him because of his supposed far-left policies, so yes "we" should be happy he is leaning center.
