Jamie Foxx on the effect of Obama

In trying to find something positive about this situation, I found this to be quite refreshing.

Quote:
Actor Jamie Foxx was moved to tears when Barack Obama was voted in as U.S. President-elect - because he is convinced the Democrat has brought all African-Americans "responsibility".

Foxx is elated Obama will be the next American leader and pleads with fellow African-Americans to recognise the honour that has been bestowed upon them.

He tells Access Hollywood, .It was absolutely incredible. I.m standing around all dudes and we are breaking out in tears.

.I don.t know how people felt but I know how I felt, as far as being an African-American male. I speak now to every African-American male that I see. Now we have a responsibility, a huge responsibility to make sure we do the right thing now and to cut out all the madness and silliness. Now we don.t have an excuse.

"We can.t say it.s the man.s fault when you are the man..

And Foxx is keeping 20 January free to witness first-hand Obama's inauguration ceremony in Washington D.C.

He adds, .I.m going to be there. We are going to take the family down and we are going to have a great time.. http://www.imdb.com/news/ns0000002/#ni0605718

Will we be able to blame all blacks in the U.S. when O'Bomba fails?

Unfortunately, it'll happen that way. Look at how crime statistics are throw on the blacks. Not saying it isn't justified, but I think whites down play their role in creating the current black culture.

Watch, everytime something happens that is bad (which will be frequently) they will attack his racist. Hypocrites.

It'll be Bush's fault. He's the one that got us in this mess and Obama was just trying to get us out.

It really is... If Bush wasn't such a fuck up, people wouldn't have resorted to voting for that clown.

Just now they have a responsibility?? That thought process just really pisses me off. Heck, dipwad, maybe if you took responsibility for your own actions instead of "blaming the man", half the crap that you feel is a plight on you would be gone!

That's what he's saying. Actually Jamie Foxx went from being a poor kid in Terrell, Tx to being a multi millionaire in a few years. And was funny as hell on "Living Colour". I think he sends a good message to the black community..."get over it and be somebody". It's better than the alternative message.

Agreed!
Heck obama played on making paople think they were the victim, making people think it isn't their fault for being where they are. He wants to make them believe that he will make things all better, thus don't take responsibility.
Sad Fox couldn't see that.
I know in this election obama had the race and victim card in his hip pocket the whole time.

Agree 100%. That's what I interpreted as well.

However, it is sad that it takes Obama's rise to power to just now make an entire culture feel like it's time to be responsible. Apparently, not all think that way, but it's obvious the majority does. What a pathetic means of getting validation for yourself.

10:1 says that African Americans will use Obama's election as yet another excuse as to why they should be entitled to everything.

I look at it like this, the black people of this country, who have never known slavery, now have no claim to any "system or the Man" putting them where they are.

Jamie foxx is saying the same thing Bill Cosby has said for the last 10 to 20 yrs.

Racism will always be around, since every race has people that practice it daily.

I am also willing to bet if Obama does an ok job or better, yet the "hook up" some people are looking for never show up, he will be called a sell out or uncle tom by his own people.

And you know this how? You've spoken to every black person in America?
And every black person agrees with the idiots Al Sharpten & Jesse Jackson, too, correct?

Give me a break with that BS.

95% of blacks voted for Obama in this election. Black Republicans voted for Obama because they felt compelled to do so on a guttural level. It was time to electrify the world as sell-out Colin Powell put it when he endorsed Obama.

You Tube is replete with videos of idiots making comments that with Obama they will no longer have to worry about the mortgage, rent, and standing in line at Wal-Mart. And a portion of those people see him or refer to him as the messiah. A lot of the cultures around the world have referred to him in the same religious context. And on election night I saw some interviews of blacks remarking that now they have opening to really be somebody.

I think Jamie Foxx talking about ending the madness and silliness confirms my point. At lot of guys like that are saying the same thing. Bill Cosby has been pissing off the black community and NAACP for years by telling blacks to take personal responsibility. And how he is appalled at inner city youths putting priority on expensive tennis shoes, jewelry, and perpetuating a violent sub culture over going to school. And decrying how black youths calling each other Niggers like it's a term of endearment.

Yea, I feel comfortable using a cultural self-imposed victim stereotype on this issue. Absolutely.

Well you know the line your parents tell you when you are little. "You can be what ever you dream to be. You could grow up to be president, son." I guess a lot of black people never thought they could say such a thing. Which to me sounds stupid, but I am sure a lot of people never said that to there child.
