Conservatives didn't lose the election...

This is good reading.

Commentary: Conservatives didn't lose election, GOP did

Beyond the presidential race, it goes without saying the Republican Party took a shellacking nationally. Some on the left will say our electoral losses are a repudiation of our principles of lower taxes, smaller government and individual liberty. But Tuesday was not in fact a rejection of those principles -- it was a rejection of Republicans' failure to live up to those principles.

Yep, I've been saying that.

I would also add that Obama more than likely won because a fair amount of Republicans voted for him out of the hope for another Reagan.

That is a fair assessment.

I think that is stating the obvious.

Republicans had their chance - where are my lower taxes, my smaller federal government and increased individual liberties? Fuck em, they didn't listen, they lost, bring on Newt.

There are still several Republicans, but not so many Conservatives. Sad.

Odd how when Palin said this earlier in the week, people scoffed, but when cnn says it people applaud.

If any Republican thinks Barry is like Reagan, they are insane.

You got lower taxes. That was the only part they got right in the last eight years. Its the rest of it that they fucked up on...

I stopped equating party label with idealogy more than 10 years ago. The days of thinking Republican = Conservative are long gone.

The Republicans who have been in control the last 10-12 years are Neo-cons, who are NOT fiscal or governmental conservatives in any way.

The Republicans will only begin to yield power again when they return to thier true roots, low taxes, small government, and non interventionalism.

The voters know thier phony, so if your going to put liberals in office, you might as well get a REAL one (Obama), not a pretender.

Now remember Obama would not even let the public see a copy of his birth certificate and skirted any questions that the new media had that he had not already covered in his book.

A seven-page questionnaire being sent by the office of President-elect Barack Obama to those seeking cabinet and other high-ranking posts may be the most extensive — some say invasive — application ever.

The questionnaire includes 63 requests for personal and professional records, some covering applicants’ spouses and grown children as well, that are forcing job-seekers to rummage from basements to attics, in shoe boxes, diaries and computer archives to document both their achievements and missteps.

You missed my point. SOHC said it. Obama will split this country up the middle, I just don't think Palin will bring it back together (although her ideals are sound).
