How to get out of this Economic Quackmire?

Lower taxes, so the economic engine can increase it's rpm's.
Provide loans to those that need immediate cash, not free money.
That includes keeping government out of any type of ownership of any business (GMC).

I'm sorry, but I think this country is full of a bunch of Dump Fruck voters and government officials. Have a happy next 20-30 years, you arsh bowls.
You people in Washington D.C. suck. (I'm speaking to their IQ level, no need to worry)

I find it ironic that the very people that I go too when I need money (who say no)
now want me to give them money.

I love how Obama is trying to get Bush to give more money to the automakers before jan 20th. He wants Bush to do the dirty work and increase the debt so that Obama will reap the benefits and won't be blamed for giving big money to corporations.

Fucking slick willy

Misspelled words in the thread title is a bad way to start things off. Kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

To answer your question: An economic policy that is the diametric opposite of Obama's would be a good place to start.

Sickening, isn't it?

Even (gasp) Hillary would likely be better than obama.

I don't think that is the case.

I think Obama had the ramifications of a GM bankruptcy explained to him and promptly shitted himself.

60 days. That's how long they are saying GM has left before Chapter 7. At that point hundreds of thousands of people are going to lose their jobs almost overnight and I'm not just talking about UAW workers.

Something else.

If GM goes into liquidation, you'll see it broken up and sold off. I think the Caddy, Chevy, and Buick brands will survive. The Chinese will buy Buick outright but don't count on those jobs staying here. Buick is a huge brand in China and it only sells three models in the US (LaCross, Enclave, and Lucerne). I don't see any American based buyer that will end up owning Chevy or Caddy. I bet you could see them being bought by middle eastern funds. How would ya'll like that?

Ford will survive with or without the bailout. The economy is the only thing that is kicking them in the nutz. If they can just get past 2010, I think they'll be in a position to really kick some ass.

Chrysler is dead. Put a fork in them. It is only a matter of time before it is broken up and sold off.

It is interesting to watch the governmet fiddle fart around and engage in brinksmanship with GM while posturing for agreements with columbia for free trade. There is not much time left, and rome is burning while the government is fiddling.

With that said, GM MUST implement massive changes should they get this money.

Agreed. I think they should start with firing Rick "Red Ink" Wagoner.
