I would believe that it varies by state. Here in Texas, THOUSANDS of people will be voting for McCain completely based on the fact that they dont want an African American in office. Im a white male and I know this state is one of the more "old school" states in the nation. With that said, I voted for Obama.

The polls say obama is leading.

Don't worry, that'll start changing now that everyone's work day is over and they can go vote.

i think there are more whites voting for mccain because of his race only because there are so many more whites than blacks in this country... but by percentage i would think more blacks are voting for obama solely based on his skin tone.

It should have nothing to do with anything, he is half white and half black, it should have everything to do with his views, which stink.

Well thats the difference between you and I. I dont judge people based on their views whether it sports, religion or politics.
I see and hear alot of the younger crowd voting for Obama. In your eyes do they just see the world differently or are they just ignorant?

In a culture that is so obsessed with celebrity, you tell me. It's not that they're ignorant... they're just inane.

Have you worked with said youth lately? They are lazy, ignorant, have a sense of entitlement, and all around uninspiring. I have seen a steady decline in the quality of character in the past ten years and a President that is elected under the guise of handouts isn't going to help that any.

If you & I were just talking about some subject I would not judge your ideas or veiws, but to be Pres. of the US. heck yes I have to judge you ideas and your veiws and just about every thing you have to say to make an informed vote. As for the celebrities, they are all nuts.

I'm thinking ignorant. They are not old enough to have developed critical thinking skills and are not far enough along in life to own a company or pay a lot of taxes. Shit changes when you are a taxpayer/employer. It is idealism > reality.

I've heard it described like this - if you aren't a democrat when you are young, you don't have a heart. If you are not a republican when you get older, you don't have a brain.

Link to the statistics you used to pull that statement out of your ass? And what the hell is an "old school" state?

Most people never think about being a Dem or a Rep except election time. The rest of the time they are trying to make a good living and keep their children safe and happy.

Nice to see coherent thoughts being put into type, and I would agree, to a point. Welcome.

You missed the point.

Youth are generally idealistic; when you get older and start to pay taxes and have a family and perhaps own a company, your focus changes. The poll numbers i've seen show that the voters voting for obama are PRIMARILY the younger people. And I stand on my statement that the younger people do not yet have the life experience to make decisions - thus they fall for the rock star persona of obama and vote for him. I'm 45 and I see life a lot different than I did at 20. I also own a company, and employ people. Obamas stupid tax plans, if enacted, will result in me having to LAYOFF people.

I think about Republican views on taxes everytime I pay my quarterly taxes. And those that think the "rich" people don't pay enough taxes probably have no idea how much those "rich" people actually pay. But hey instead of educating themselves they line up for checks paid for by the sweat, hard work, and ingenuity of the "rich elitist".

Thanks, I really believe that most people have much to busy lives to go around most of the times thing about being a Dem or Rep. They would just like to see us not sink any deeper in the hole we are in now!
