Voting in TX, does it really matter

I have always had the view that TX is hard-core Rep. and its a long shot for a dem to win here, so I never vote. Should I get my lazy ass out and vote or does it really matter? If there is a chance in hell Obama would win TX?

Yes, there are a lot of contested local and state races that need to be determined. I want to say my ballot was 2-3 pages long.

I know in Collin County registered democrats outvoted registered republicans by 11% in early voting.

My 401K is now a 400K (was 301K)

McCain and Cornyn are probably safe. Marchant may not be. That is just the top three races here.

Nah, why bother, right? It's not like anybody died to earn your freedom and secure your right to elect the people who represent you in our government.

Get a sample ballot, do a name search on all the state and local candidates, then get off your ass and vote.

absolutely not, the republicans will sweep this state no matter what, so if you are a republican, don't bother voting.

IMO it is a duty to vote.

While Texas is likely to go all Republican on the national level, the Democrats do fine in state and local elections. Most Democrats, at that level are moderate or even conservative in their politics.
