Russia threatens to use nukes on Poland

A top Russian general said Friday that Poland's agreement to accept a US missile defense battery exposes the country to attack, pointing out that Russian military doctrine permits the use of nuclear weapons in such a situation,

Yeah, that was on MSNBC on Wednesday. It's pretty crazy. I don't know what we're going to do about Russia. They and China are so obsessed with appearing powerful that it's hard to judge just how crazy they're willing to get. We'll see.

Give me a dollar.

Like I said before , Russia is looking to regain their super power status . I think they will be in Iran in a heart beat if Israel or the U.S. invades Iran .

What makes you think they aren't already there? You can support a country militarily without having your own boots on the ground. Georgia is a test of American patience, which will be followed closely by a live nuclear reactor in Iran. The fuel of course will be supplied and controlled by the Russians. Then when we don't act and keep the Israelis from bombing it we'll be in the second cold war again.

I don't think Russia cares very much about Iran, the only reason they stand behind them is so that it can be used as a bargaining chip in exchange for Georgia.

I'm sure there has been a steady flow of arms into Iran over the past several months / years . Iran is just stalling the US until they get all their chips in place and then they will tell the west to fuck off . Russia might not give a rats ass about Iran but they sure would love to see the Americans knocked down a few notches . Iran seems to be a good place for this to happen . Personally , I think we need to stay out of Iran and let Israel do what ever it is they need to do . We need to finish our business in Iraq and keep a damn close eye on North Korea and now south & eastern Europe .

IMO all of this is occurring because of perceived US weakness, and inability to respond.

I hope that bush nuts up to this, and I pray that mccain gets elected and can keep the pressure on.

If Obimination gets elected we're fucked. They'll try to negotiate with russia. So freakin' weak....

That's a provocative statement. I looks like Russia is hell bent on regaining their super power status becoming the neighborhood bully in Eurasia. Threatening with nuclear weapons is extremism in my opinion. They certainly couldn't do that with impunity. I don't even understand what they are thinking at this point.

God help us if Hussein Obama gets elected.

I figure this may be behind the US's publicly denial of Israeli request for weapons to strike Iran's nuc-u-lar reactor(s)?

The other day I was working in my wifes office when an old man came in to get his license plate sticker renewed . We started talking and he was a Viet Nam and Korea vet . He flat out said that things in todays time are far worse than anytime he could remember during either war or even in peace time with the cold war going on . He said his son is serving in Iraq right now and that he fears for his safety every day . He feels like soldiers and the general population are in far greater danger than we have been in before . Maybe this is the beginning of the end .............

If we don't get involved, it will be total chaos. There will be more players involved than you can imagine.

Funny... I've been to a shitload of bases all over this country and I feel pretty safe. I just went on a convoy across the Southern Region and it was a pretty nice drive. Casualities speak for themselves. This is as safe as a war gets.

I guess that old timer forgot that 40,000 of his buddies didnt come home, and 3000 or so in Iraq died in the line of duty. Not seeing his logic.

Sigh...

Arguing for the sake of arguing, aren't you? Sometimes you have to fight when you're a man and you can't always go 'round being a pussy.

Well poland agreed to let us install Patriot missles. Now their parliment has to vote on it. "When you threaten Poland, you perhaps forget that it is not 1988," Rice said. "It's 2008 and the United States has a ... firm treaty guarantee to defend Poland's territory as if it was the territory of the United States. So it's probably not wise to throw these threats around."
