Damn, GW just can't get a break from the blame. Even the russians have learned to blame him for everything LOL...

Sounds like they are saying whatever to get the US to think twice and hold off on doing anything about it.

Looks to me like they're claiming it was a plot planned by Cheney.

Talk is cheap because supply exceeds demand!

Bush himself did not want a war in South Ossetia but his Republican Party did not leave him any choice.” The Americans were now engineering an armed conflict between Ukraine and Russia, Dr Markov added.
This is what caught my attention. It definitely is posturing by the russians since GWB called them out pretty hard.

Lol blaming it on bush. HAHA what a cop out. I'm blaming obama psycho pastor for causing a revolution in georgia, then blaming the us and in turn connecting mccain to bush. it's all a front written by a liberal spy planted in russia to help barack get elected.....LOL

It isn't his fault that this happened, but the escalation could have been avoided if we went in early. Now we're going to have a bigger mess than we wanted. BTW, we ARE going in, just don't know when, though.

I dunno man. If the US went in I think we would have a much larger mess right now. The biggest problem for us is that we are in so deep with Iraq that we can't afford a 3rd offensive front. This is why the Russians went ahead with the invasion. Toe to toe they know they cant' face down the US in a ground, air, or sea war but when we can't put a large number of troops on the ground to begin with they can afford to be bold.

Honestly I think Georgia is lost.

BTW, anyone notice that a withdraw timetable for Iraq appears to be in the works? That one Iraq minister indicated that it is all but a done deal. I think 3 years is very possible.

Just a few somewhat related thoughts..

1. I bet the Ukraine becomes a NATO member pretty damn quickly...
2. John McCain just got handed the Presidency. He is way ahead of the curve when it comes to dealing with Russia and Putin.
3. The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program is about to get accelerated.
4. The F-22 just became a helluva lot more relevant.
5. Somewhere in the Pentagon, someone is wondering if we can restart B2 production.
6. Russia can kiss WTO membership goodbye.
7. Domestic oil drilling just became more important (to reduce Russia's oil influence)

Preparations are being made to go into Georgia as we speak. Preparations are being made to support an attack on Iran. There's a lot happening. I think a lot of hesitation and/or haste is because of this election.

Hurry up and wait, right now.

I wonder if we are running clandestine operations against Russian troops right now? We admit to having 100 "advisors" over there right now so I wonder what the real count is.

There are roughly 100 advisors in Georgia at all times for the GSSOP, but there are at least 1500 as support that doesn't get the news because, well, they're support. I wish I could show you something written, but I doubt there will be anything on that. The numbers were probably less when the GSSOP was a Marine operation, but now that it's the JMTC's baby, the Army doesn't move people anywhere without support out the butt. And I'm sure they didn't just disappear when all this started.

My favorite part of the article was right at the front:

"Russians were told over breakfast yesterday what really happened in Georgia: the conflict in South Ossetia was part of a plot by Dick Cheney, the Vice-President, to stop Barack Obama being elected president of the United States."
