Hot Wheels > Chevy

Mattel, the makers of Hot Wheels, now has a market capitalization larger than GM.

I talked to my brother today, he works at the GM assembly plant in Arlington. They have a six month supply of trucks in the field right now. Lots of dealers are saying they don't want ANY 2009 models.

when they start giving them away, you better post up and let us know. I live 5-6 minutes from that plant and would take a couple off their hands!

I'd settle for employee pricing, 6k in rebates, and 0% for 72 months.

My buddy works at a Ford dealership and he said they have a year supply of F150's on the lot right now. The new body style was suppose to come out in August, but he claims Ford is going to postpone them a few months.

I wonder how the 2.99 deal is helping Dodge trucks if it all? If it can trick people into buying Dodge trucks I know people would buy GM and Ford trucks with the same deal. If GM/Ford even made their own cards they could recoupe a lot of money back in interest when people didnt pay what was left of the gas bill.

I am still trying to decide if I want to get my new 3500 or not, everytime we discuss it, the next day the price drops just that much more . I had to go all over dallas last week, almost EVERY used car lot now is full of trucks, there was a 07 dodge with >12000 for like 9k lmao. Dealerships laugh at you when you bring a truck/suv in as a trade now lol

IHRA Hot Rod-404
NHRA ET-404M
IHRA SSS-4X4M

How am I supposed to get my own T-Shirt with all those different numbers?

I think there is a good chance that GM will eventually close down all of their large SUV plants with the possible exception of Arlington (because it is by far the best one)

But if GM declares bankruptcy (and those odds have been increasing daily) then all bets are off.

The govt wont allow them to file. They already are in the position of doing it, but watch, they will get bailed out.

I read they were pushing it back a year, because of lack of sales. Hell I'd buy a new truck if I could keep the same payment, terms, and options.

They announced the closing of 4 last month... leaving Arlington as their last full size SUV plant.

Didn't know they had shutdown all but Arlington, but as I said it isn't a surprise. Arlington is the best damn plant GM has PERIOD.

IMO it is really going to suck if GM goes under (or files for bankruptcy) they finally started producing some fairly kick ass cars and they've got some great products coming for the 2009 and 2010 model year.

The real kick in the nuts for GM is that Hummer sales are off 60%

My uncle (he owns a 2005 H2) got a call from the Hummer dealer in Shreveport. They gave him 30K off sticker and DROVE it to him in West Monroe. While the guy was there he offered me 11K off for an H3 (I get a GMS discount because I'm an EDS employee) He even offered to deliver it to me in Lake Dallas...

I was sorely tempted since gas prices are not that important to me (I telecommute) but the wife helped me back to sanity (she nixed it )
