John Cornyn

John Cornyn political ad. Wow, I'd laugh but I'm a little embarrassed for our State at the moment.

This ranks right up there with the footage of "Dubya The Rancher" clearing brush with a chainsaw. An easy peek past the smoke and mirrors. I've always said that all they have to do is thier damned job and they won't need "tricks".

Talk is cheap because supply exceeds demand!

Texas state pride is exactly what makes this such a bad joke.

Dude, I've played football under Friday night lights for most of my teen years.

I've rode bulls that weigh just a little bit less than a sub compact car. I took calf roping lessons from pure greatness, Roy Cooper.

I love smoking BBQ on the weekends and I've been known to dip some Cope every now and then. I've been known to hunt and fish on occasion but not as much as I would like to.

There is the copper Lone Star of Texas hanging from my house and if my American Flag is flying so is my Texas flag.

I've been known to wear my "Fuck y'all I'm from Texas" shirt to the office in California. My favorite cap has a quote from Davy Crockett: "You can all go to Hell and I'm going to Texas"

Maybe that is why I'm a little embarrassed.

I just saw Hubbard last year at Love & War in Texas. We made him sing it. He is gonna be there again next month. I'll be back with my pail of beer.

I grew up pretty close to Houston but in Cypress. Back in the 60s and 70s Cypress was about as country as you could get without having a west Texas address. Sadly, a totally different place now sadly.

Even the hangout just isn't the same. http://www.tinhall.com/.

I actually grew up with a girl who was married at Tin Hall. I attended her wedding and while in HS attended her mother's wedding when she re-married. Her grandmother was also married there. haha.

"Make lesser states squirm"

I like it.

He was wearing a white felt. Why would anyone think it was serious?

No shit. A real cowboy knows it is time for straw.

As far as serious obviously it wasn't. He actually played it at the convention before his speech. He actually admitted it was for humor politics and was a lead in to his speech. You can see his speech at http://www.johncornyn.com

For the record I like Cornyn and vote for him.

Got some Tony Llamas? Gotta have some Tony Llamas.
I grew up with a West Texas address. A place we affectionaltley call Drabilene. My sister almost married James Leddy http://www.joenickp.com/texas/bootmakers.html Now there's a fine pair of boots. I wore out my last pair a few years ago.

I've seen some serious cowboys from the Houston and south Texas area. Cornyn ain't one of em obviously.

We played a show in Abilene, recently. It was actually a lot of fun. All the ACU kids came out. And everyone had "Keep Abilene Boring" shirts on. haha

Ronnie Dunn (Brooks & Dunn) went to ACU until he got kicked out for playing the bars. Actually they gave him a choice...quit the band or quit ACU. Smart choice on his part.
Some of the wildest kids I knew went to Abilene Christian University. Lots of mischief there cause there's nothing else to do.

Justin Ropers, FTW. Actually I have some Tony lizards that I've had for going on 20 years now. They look about the same as when I purchased them.

And I feel relatively comfortable in saying that you and your band did quite well in that aspect...

Justin's are more hometown proper anyway. Lizards hold up but can be hot. I had some sharkskins that I couldn't wear out. After two re-soles I finally gave em to my son.
