That is a long read.
I really don't see as big of a problem as they suggest. Sure, our economy will take a hit for a little while during the waiting period for the elderly to die off, but just as soon as that's over it will bounce back with a vengeance. The next generation will be full of super rich individuals who bought up all the property from the elderly moving into condos while they were running their own private specialized business.
If you look at the animal and insect kingdom in the rainforests you will see nothing but specialists that keep one aspect in check from growing too big. This is essentially what will happen with us as well. Hell, it's already started. We are becoming specialists in our jobs just to sustain life. We will get better at it and the world will live on.
