what would the Demís do if?

What would the Demís do if Obama won the Popular Vote and McCain won the Electoral vote?

Politico says it could happenÖ

They'd have to eat shit just like they did in 2000. If they don't like the system, then change it. Otherwise, live by it.

Obama has already gone back on his word about campaign funding, and it's just the beginning. He doesn't know whether to shit or go blind, and the debates haven't even started. It will be fun...

If that happens, do you think the Rev's Sharpton & Jackason will let it slide???
How about this for a scenario...

Obama gets the popular vote, McCain the Electoral. The above mentioned call for "peacful demonstrations" that will make the Watts riots of '65 look like a ladies tea party.
Bush (with a nudge from an "unknown" prompt) declared the election null & void, and proclaims marshall law

Backlash? Hell, this whole election process will be "backlash"! They've both flip=flopped so much, who can keep track?

Heck if we could just stick a monkey in this election we would have the same results, except the POO being thrown would be an actual object....throwing real poo might get congress off their asses

That article stated that before 2000, it had been 100 years since a candidate won the Electoral Vote but not the Popular vote. Didn't Kennedy win the Electoral but not the Popular in '60?

edit: Nevermind, just looked up that he won the Pop. by just 2 tenths of a percent.

Because all the founding fathers where white you conclude that the constitution is racist?
How is that?

The constitution laid the groundwork to end slavery and had in its core the belief that all men are created equal. If the founding fathers didnít believe that then why put it in?

Gore/Bush 2000 proved that the popular vote is incidental.

I remember how disappointed I was when Al Gore lost in 2000, but here I am 8 years later quite literally praying that Obama loses the election.

Crazy stuff.

However, even though this is totally academic at this point. I believe that Gore really did win Florida in 2000. There have been several rather costly investigations subsequent to "Floridagate". That have revealed that Gore won Florida by 662 votes. He won the popular vote and the electoral college, but is officially recorded as the also-ran. If all the votes would have been recounted by bi-partisan officials under Florida law there would have been no President George Bush.

I digress............
