Worst Quarter in 5 years!

More indicators of a slowing and struggling economy.

It wasn't too long ago that I was listening to people defend the Bush Administration regarding the strength of our economy. And subsequently blaming Bill Clinton for handing them a recession when they first came into office.

It's interesting to see people be forced to realize that the economy ebbs and flows, regardless of controlling party. As history has clearly taught us.

Everything is fine. The economy is thriving. The war is seeing more progress than ever.

Nothing to see here.

It is simply the American way, sadly, to always try to blame someone other than themselves for their problems. Agree that Dubya, along with Slick Willie before him, actually had very little influence on the American economy in and of themselves.

So was Bill responsible for the recession that happened in 1999 or was it just the ebb and flow of the economy?

he wasn't responsible for the boom of the 90s, nor was he responsible for the recession heading into Bush's admin, nor was Bush responsible for the recession or the subsequent boom or the current recession.

I disagree to some extent. Clinton should have reigned in the dot com bullshit. Bush should have done something about lending practices. But even then it would be the administrations applying pressure via the Fed or some other agency.

Blaming the president for the economy outside of these wild swings is pretty fucking stupid though.

All I'm saying is "it is what it is". I don't believe for one second that the shit storm is over. I just hope it goes up enough for me to sell before it takes another dump.

I'm just trying to make that 15% a year.

While some may disagree with your position, it is one that is consistent and valid IMO.

Yes... it is what it is.

Let the hedgies decide which way they want to take the market and climb aboard. When you control trillions you get to move the market.

Us little peons are just along for the ride... whether with them or against them.
