She should have posted a "no guns allowed " sign

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,343090,00.html

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. A 77-year-old Illinois state representative is happy to be alive after a man with a gun pushed his way into her home and robbed her of $7.

Younge, a Democrat, said she didn't recognize the man, who wore a red hat and red jacket and dark pants. She said she's going to pray for him.

"This robbery and what's happening to this community is the result of a lack of a supportive system for our youth. We need jobs," she said. "This happened in broad daylight at noon. We need a mental health support system. This is further evidence of that."

Agreed. Think of the lives that could be saved with a simple sign (and maybe some fresh new gun legislation)!

That's right, LOVE the guns out of the criminal's hands.

LOL!

I couldn't agree more. I mean, if she had posted a "No Guns Allowed" sign and Obama signed an Assault Weapons Ban into effect, I know I wouldn't have been going anywhere near her place!

It is the mentality and situation that the liberal mindset has created. When handouts aren't handed out, the natives get restless and will go after things they don't deserve.

Pericles "Freedom is the sure possession of those alone who have the courage to defend it. "

"[T]he people alone have an incontestable, unalienable, and indefeasible right to institute government and to reform, alter, or totally change the same when their protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness require it." --Samuel Adams

Gun control

Washington D.C. enacted a virtual ban on handguns in 1976. Between 1976 and 1991, Washington D.C.'s homicide rate rose 200%, while the U.S. rate rose 12%.

Florida adopted a right-to-carry law in 1987. Between 1987 and 1996, these changes occurred:

-------- ------ United States --------- Florida

homicide rate -0.4% --------- -36%

firearm homicide rate +15% --------- -37%

handgun homicide rate +24% --------- -41%

In April of 1999, Bill and Hillary Clinton held a press conference on gun control legislation. Hillary Clinton stated:

"And since the crime bill was enacted, 19 of the deadliest assault weapons are harder to find on our streets. We will never know how many tragedies we've avoided because of these efforts."

* Assault weapons were involved in less than 1% of homicides before the assault weapons ban took effect in 1994. The same is true as of 1998. (3)

* As of 1998, about 13% of homicides involve knives, 5% involve bludgeons, and 6% are committed with hands and feet. (3)

* The Clinton administration prosecuted 4 people in 1997 and 4 people in 1998 for violating the assault weapons ban. (22)
