Since this decision was likely made weeks/months ago, the date of his resignation certainly had a political ring to it. I guess Rummy was afraid if he resigned BEFORE the elections, it might hurt the Republicans.............and it didn't matter anyway.

I think Rummy would have stayed if the Reps had remained in power...

Sean Hannity said in his show today that this decision for Rummy to leave had been "in the making for months". And he interviewed "W" a week ago. So if he knew, he kept a lid on it too.

The Dems aren't even in power yet and Rummy's already gone.

I won't shed a damn tear for him. GW was too loyal to this guy for too damn long. He should have been bounced after that last election.
