Exclamation If you don't vote...

then fuck you.

Ok, seriously, if you haven't voted yet, get off your fat ass and get the job done tomorrow. I know the National elections are pretty much a done deal for Texas but the Governor's race is probably the most important race Texas has had in decades.

Remember, there is no runoff for Governor. If Rick Perry comes in 1st with only 30% of the vote, he gets another 3 years. Same goes for any of the other candidates.

No shit, this is where I get into my libertarian bent.

Legalize everything, beer, pot, crack, crank...

If you're going to allow consumption of one drug (and there's nothing wrong with it IMO) then you need to allow consumption of all drugs.

Just a thought!

Alcohol, tobacco and firearms should be the name of a convienience store..not a government regulatory agency.
I saw that on a T-shirt!

The funniest thing about people not voting is that not even 100 years ago, women and blacks were fighting for the right to a full vote. They said on the news this morning that women are least likely to vote . . . so what the hell was that whole woman's movement for?

So, if I vote for a guy, and he's a douchebag, can I still bitch about him on the grounds that his opponents were no less douchebaggy?

That was a stepping stone for lesbian marriage. The old, rich white guys back then said this day would come ("What's next, women marrying women?") then, and it almost has...

I'd vote if I was allowed to, though I don't really care for any of the governor candidates at all. I'd consider myself Republican, but Rick Perry is a fucking idiot IMHO. He can take his superhighway and shove it up his ass sideways.

How is this such an important election to so many people. The Texas Governor has very little power. The only serious impact the governor has is image...

Because with two Independent candidates having such a large turnout and support, it could not only change Texas, but start to change the entire nation.

I doubt it. Maybe, but I'll throw my guess out here like this:

Perry 48%
Bell 30%
Mellencamp 12%
Kinky 10%

Let me guess, you are only voting for Kinky because he wants to decrim pot. Just FYI, he can't do it on his own.

Think long term, this is like the minor leagues. Most presidents are former senators/governors, most senators/governors are former representatives, and those representatives are being decided on in this vote.

The sad thing is that the majority of Texans voted against Rick Perry but he is getting 4 more years. I only hope that his 39% non majority is enough to convince him to kill off the Trans Texas Corridor.

I wouldn't count on it considering that he put it in the "fine print" to get it through in the first place. Besides...he wouldn't want to upset his foreign friends by not giving them our land.
