N. Korea reportedly launches 4 missiles

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060704/...kxBHNlYwN0bQ--

Quote:
TOKYO - North Korea test-launched at least two mid-range missiles Wednesday that landed in the Sea of Japan, Japanese media reported, and a State Department official said the North appeared ready to launch the long-range Taepodong-2.
Called Bush's bluff!

Now what?

According to Fox News they launched 2 missiles, neither one was of the intercontinental type, and one was a "dud"

Latest news is that 2 scuds and one long range were launched with the long range "exploding" 35 seconds after launch and landing in the sea of japan also.
"Unknown" whether missile exploded as an intentional abort or a malfunction.

Also read that no less than 6 Aegis ships were locked in and tracking the missiles along with tracking stations in Alaska and several aircraft.

There was also news of a 4th missile launch but that news was canned pretty quick. Wonder if the 4th was an intercepter?

Thier unguided, unarmed missle failed 35 seconds after launch. I'd say Kim Jong made an ass of himself. But there will be a lot of international bitch slapping over this.

The two U.S. officials later told FOX News that the Taepodong-2 was the third rocket to go up. It failed 35 seconds after launch. A Defense Department official said the U.S. took no action because the missiles posed no threat to the United States or its interests

Let me just tell you all a little something. Things are A LOT worse than what the news is reporting. Those of us, me, with security clearance, just got a look at what REALLY went down. It's a butt load of fucked up shit that I am not at liberty to say. But it's bad, and I'm now worried.

Interesting. And mildly scary.

Also, did it blow up or did we take it out?

I have to think that if this is the case then there are a LOT of things at the moment in the works by the US and others that we'll eventually see on the news. North Korea definitely needs to be reigned in before they really screw up (or maybe they just did?).

If their missles are as dependable as their cars they'll end up nuking themselves.

They already screwed the pooch (or their dinner, whichever way you look at it). I'm sure we'll be hearing of what's already being done about this. I would bet that actions took place immediately after the missles left the ground.

How large a bet? Not that I want to bet on it, but I'm figuring you still have connections and that if you know for sure something has happened you would be willing to bet, oh, say.. the farm or some such?

Japan told a NKorea ferry to fuck off this morning and would not let them dock. Japan is PISSED. I'm sure China and Russia should be pissed too. One of the missles they did test could reach Cali ( of which I fully support ).

FYI, in 1998 Korea launched a missle OVER Japans airspace. That would piss me off.

I don't pump fuel in to planes. Right now I'm working in the MOC which here is in the wing operations center, which is in the same building as the group commander, the vice group commander, command post, and intel.

Lets just say that 2 of N. Korea's (a lot more than 5) missiles launched missed northernRussia's coast line my a few miles and China knows now that they have some fully functional missiles and a missile range that before yesterday didn't have holes in it.

I just read on Fox News that Russian missile tracking systems counted at least 10 missiles launched by N. Korea. That's accurate. Some of it is starting to come out.

And Russia doesn't need to worry about attrition due to retaliatory strikes. They could care less if SK gets nuked. This could be thier chance to conquer again.

Nah. Russia isn't even pissed. China is pissed, that's why they launched their own missiles, only none of theirs failed...that's the alarming thing.

Dude, comparing North Korea to South Korea is like comparing the USA to Mexico, at least in the ability to manufacture consumer goods. The 2 Koreas have been seperated for 60 years, and now have radically different economies and cultures.

He's not at liberty to give a lot of details, which I understand. The Chinese have already stated they are PISSED.

I do admitt to being wrong in my earlier assesment, Kim Jong is nuttier than I thought!!

Best case now is that China Bitch slaps N Korea, and everything calms down.

Any new news on this? Last I read it was also up to 10 confirmed launches, with only one long range launch that failed shorty after take off. The Koreans seem to me to be a hell of a lot more threat to security than Iraq. What is the US going to do?
