Top three Presidents with Lowest Approval Ratings:

The top three presidents with the lowest approval ratings are:
1.) George W. Bush
2.) George H.W. Bush
3.) Lyndon B. Johnson

Is there any correlation do you think that they are also the Only three presidents from the State of Texas (Eisenhower was born here, but he moved as a child, so I don't consider him from Texas).

Is it because easterners hate Texans so much? Are we missunderstood? Because if you think about it, all three of them went into office with the same attitude, GUNS BLAZING.

Hmmm.....interesting concept to think about though. I was talking with a friend the other day about Jeb Bush. Jeb was saying 2008 was out of question for bid for white house....but down the road might be different. I was making the argument that based on Jeb's father and brother's handling of the US during their run as President that Jeb Bush would not stand a chance of being elected.

Do a little more research, Bush is at 36% approval rating right now, Nixon was at 21% in 1974. But the 3 presidents on your list were all involved in unpopular wars.

Nixon got caught (white house tapes) doing what presidents since FDR had been doing. As stated, LBJ got caught up in an unpopular war, and a VERY tumultuous period in american society. I'll not go into the Bush's (so to speak)

I was listening to Alan Colms last night, President Carter had the lowest approval rating ever. Where did you get your information?

Where is your source?

Bush's approval rating is at the lowest of his presidency - 37 percent in the most recent AP-Ipsos poll and at similar levels in comparable polls.

Johnson, Reagan and Clinton also slipped into the mid-to-high 30s at some point during their terms. Truman, Nixon, Carter and George H.W. Bush saw their numbers slump into the 20s, with Truman's at one point dipping to 23 percent.

There have only been two true Texas born Presidents and those were LBJ and Ike. Both the Bush men were born in the North East, here is what the White House site says about them.

"President Bush was born on July 6, 1946, in New Haven, Connecticut, and grew up in Midland and Houston, Texas. He received a bachelorís degree in history from Yale University"

"George H. was born in Milton, Massachusetts, on June 12, 1924, he became a student leader at Phillips Academy in Andover. On his 18th birthday he enlisted in the armed forces. The youngest pilot in the Navy when he received his wings, he flew 58 combat missions during World War II. On one mission over the Pacific as a torpedo bomber pilot he was shot down by Japanese antiaircraft fire and was rescued from the water by a U. S. submarine. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for bravery in action."

It would be interesting to see if the U.S. is up for another Bush.
