If he is guilty, I say put his ass in jail. If he is being railroaded, which I am sure he will say, then that is wrong.

I will say it is good that Bush is President right now if you are him, I bet there will be a pardon in his future if he does get convicted. Thanks for setting the tone for that Mr. Clinton!

Im sure Dan Rather is back at work again... Probably just more forged documents...
Even if he was gulity of the indictment, dems would personally see it to see he is removed while Sandy Mc Burger gets a pass from shredding documents before the 9-11 Commission could look at them and Hillary gets a pass on the investigation into her campaign finance scandle.

Two (or three, four) wrongs don't make a right. If convicted, I say string him up. Make an example of his ass. And I bet $100 he'll be pardoned in GWB's last few hours in office.

VERY true.

When I saw the picture of Cindy Sheehan being arrested, I think I know why she was smiling. It was probably because that was the first time in years that she has has a man's hand tough the inside of her thigh.

forgot to mention the DA's history of partisan indictments, he's been known for using his office to pursue an agenda....

aside from that Delay has documents proving all of the t's are crossed and i's are dotted. We'll just have to see how it pans out though.

This is Texas law and not federal law as well. If Hillary had been in TX I wonder if she'd have been called on it by the same DA. I'm guessing probably not.

read the indictment, there are no facts in it to link TD. Nor dose it state facts that the contrabutions were made by a corporation with in 60 days of a general texas election.

Exactly, District Attorney Ronnie Earle tried to get Kay Bailey Hutchinson back in 1875, and he failed.

Also let's go back to 1974 and check the right wing pardons! I do recall President Ford issued a pardon to Richard Nixon for any and all crimes that he might have committed while President. Can you say Watergate?

If you can't get an indictment in Texas, you are not tryting very hard! I have seen innocent people railroaded when there was a political benefit to the DA who was presenting the case.

An indictment doesn't mean squat. Let's see a trial where Delay gets to defend the accusations against him.

Any student of basic US politics understandsthe Watergate issue and the pardon given to Nixon. It has nothing to with being a dem or rep, you need to be able to admit when you are wrong. You got schooled in basic politics and now you are trying to back out and toss a smoke screen by screaming liberal . Come on crotch even you have to recognize Clinton was not the first to toss out bogus pardons! If not continue on you journey of as the ignorant right winger, LOL.

Delay may have done wrong, but why did it take FIVE TRIPS TO THE GRAND JURY? Earle FINALLY found a group of folks that think there MIGHT be enough to prosecute. He'll "delay" it as long as he can, then the charges will be dropped. It's a VERY vague indictment...Of coure Reps do wrong, and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, but I feel this is just another waste of our money.

Once again you are trying to crawl out of this one so that you may save face. The word "only " as used by you is incorrect. So either you are trying to blow smoke or you lack the capability to comprehend my initial statement. I said "Come on crotch even you have to recognize Clinton was not the first to toss out bogus pardons!" I never stated you said he was the "only" one. Also it has nothing to do with Bush or the Republicans in general. Both parties are guilty of piss poor pardons. Good luck on your journey of ignorance, if that is the best you can muster up.

Damn dude, you are one hostile liberal. LOL!

It's funny how Earle refused to go after Dan Morales for taking bribes from the tobacco industry during that whole debacle. The Feds had to come in and supercede him, and now, of course, Morales is in jail.

Actually I currently 49% republican and 51% democrat. I feel that Bush has gotten a bad rap with the Hurricane issue. Is to be held accountable for FEMA well yes, is it his fault that New Orleans is a shit hole, no, did he cause this no. I think people are looking to blame and it keeps going uphill instead of down. That dumb ass mayor and equally worthless governor should be held most accountable for what took place in NO. I think the T. Delay bs is just more political manuevering but it goes both ways. They went after Clinton for his lies about Monica so the Dems will take any oportunity they can to make themselves look better, you can thank Ken Starr and others for that, they set the precedence as of late.

If what I am hearing that 5 different GJ's would not or did not indict Delay, then this is going to probably be a partisan Democratic political move. Imagine that, a Democratic DA in the most liberal county in Texas going after a Republican. Go figure!

I have also heard that this may have been an end around to get soft money to candidates from a company, but that it is not unprecedented in it's tactics. I guess if you are a hard core Democrat, you see it as criminal if a Republican does it, and a hard core Republican could see it as illegal if a Democrat did the same thing.

Let's see if a criminal trial gets scheduled right before the next election and then it ends as a slam dunk for Delay. Then I will call it for what it appears, pure politics.

Yea... all partisan politics... until you look at Earle's record of prosecution as the top enforcer of the ethics laws a different picture is painted.

His count is 15 elected officials... 12 of which have been democrats.

He must really be libertarian or the republican spin machine is in full effect.

He's been DA in Austin since 6th street was a dirt road. Republicans have only been in control for a period of his career.

I'm sure the ratio will improve significantly if Austin re-elects him.

Maybe it's just that more Dem's are bad fuckers? Go ahead and etch it in stone-it's going to be a repeat of '94, and Kay Bailey...spend time and money on NOTHING, and hope to derail the Rep's when it comes election time.

I'm sorry. I don't see what was so hostile about what he said. He was only trying to prove that you were trying to twist HIS words around; therefore making you the "master of twisting things to your koolaid drinking beliefs".
